In some of those people's defense, I would argue that many choose to be underemployed in order to live a French Quarter-type of lifestyle (see also: actors in LA/NY, "beach bums," etc).

I actually agree with the other poster that some of them probably choose the FQ lifestyle, if anything. New Orleans is one of those rare cities that actually attracts those types of workers.
I met a, ahem, "bartender" at one of the clubs and she had come to New Orleans from Florida because she said the money was so much better here than over there in that line of work.

But its also a completely unrepresentative sample. He only interviewed folks that work in the French Quarter (and only showed us those that did have a degree). It isn't like you are going to find someone a mechanical engineer working the door at a strip club. If I go to a hospital and only interview the doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, etc. that work there that doesn't mean that everyone should go to college because it pays off in guaranteed employment.
I don't necessarily disagree with the basic point, which seems to be that a college degree is a waste for some folks. But this video doesn't really prove too much besides that some people made bad choices.

this. if he had asked people if they graduated from college he would have gotten much different answers. and i bet there's a pretty decent chance that the ppl who had multiple degrees but were riding bikes or whatever had a SO, parent, etc bankrolling them.
i like schiff but that was pretty dumb. at least he's actually doing the work to get the message to people though

I believe I saw 2 people with ME degrees, both riding people around on bikes for a living. I also thought I saw a few biological engineers in there.
That being said, if you can't get a job in South LA with an engineering degree, you are a retard and deserve to be riding people around on bikes for a living
