bottom line is the sephardic jews were there before Arab MUSLIMS.

Judism is a religeon not a race.

It is BOTH. So you are INCORRECT. Sure anyone can convert to Judaism but that does not make them a racial jew.

Thats great. No one has ever broken a peace treaty. People who fire rockets specifically at civilians aren't civil people. There is nothing about a peace treaty that should make Israel feel comfortable.

It happened because Arabs were unjustly forced to pay the price for German crimes after WWII. The unvieling of the 2002 Saudi peace was really a de facto surrender and acceptance of Israel's right to exist by the Arab world. Even Bill Clinton has recently said that the bigest obstacle to Mideast peace is Netanyahu.

They weren't being forced to ay for anything. Europe was carving up the middle east while giving zero shits. They pissed off a lot of people all over, and giving a nation to a religious group that made up a majority in the area they were given is forcing the arabs to pay for anything.

The "Palestinians" were given their own land and didn't like it.

That's because Israel rejected the Saudi peace plan. Egypt and Jordan have honored their treaties.

1948 partition that they rejected. They could have accepted that and had a country, and a peaceful neighbor.

How did the Palestinians who had no state do that? You seem to confuse history and use language very loosely.

Another Zionist myth. Zionist are peaceful, don't engage in terrorism they just want to be left alone in peace.

It is more realistic to think the Jews would have taken the 1948 plan peacefully than your ridiculous idea that Palestine will be a peaceful neighbor if Israel completely gives in to all demands of the terrorists there today.

The truth is the Arabs were never peaceful neighbors and Anti Jewish riots tarted way before 1930.

When an outside entity controls a people (for example, Palestine and the Holy Land in general), you should expect their to be longstanding issues.

Jews, Arabs, and others are the original inhabitors of the land. Think of how many Jews became Christians and Muslims - to discount any of the three from the list is just BS.

It is wrong to root for any division. We should pray for peace - which means equality for ALL, and insist that they learn to respect differences.

Sound impossible? We do it for the most part and how old is our nation?

It's time that we stand for our country promoting OUR ideals - which is not aparthied, but liberty and equality.

Open your minds.

Can anyone tell me, as defined in the Bible (New and Old Testament) - who the SEED of Abraham is, understanding the "Promises made to Abraham," and who inherits them (who is the "Promised").

This will be interesting. It is clearly defined, based on whether you accept the New Testament.

I can't. But that's probably because I don't really give a shite.

Oh my. It's scary to think this point of view will influence American foreign policy.

You would think god would’ve PWNED those against his chosen by now. Making them unnecessarily fight for centuries seems kind of like a dick move, especially considering all he has to do is “let loose his sword”.

re: Is it wrong of me to root against Israel?

I'm no fan of Israel, but I was alarmed to see that rockets were fired into Jerusalem. To me, that just doesn't compute. If done by Hamas, I'll wager the person responsible was fired with extreme prejudice.

Tinfoil hat - activate - but it would serve as a plausible prelude to a "Hamas rocket" hitting the hated Dome of the Rock. Oops.

Just a theory I wanted to post in case it actually happens, so we can all hold hands and call bull shite.

And honestly, all of the arguing is pointless. At this point, any concession by Israel would be viewed as weakness and embolden the whackos (the muslim ones, that is). Even if every Israeli got up and left, the global Jihad would not be over.

But there won't be concessions of any kind. The Israelis are way too far up their own asses to budge, and a nuclear event seems inevitable at this point. And of course, because the real hard-line, right-wing Christians and Jews actually want there to be Armageddon, this will be encouraged, not deterred.

All for a worthless plot of fricking real estate based on a 2000 year old religious claim.

blueboy - I think I feel your disdain for religious fanatacism.

As an Orthodox Christian, I just don't get it when (and being in the south, we are surrounded by "Right Wing" Christianity) Christians try to "figure out and welcome" the End.

Christ Himself told the Disciples - "Only My Father in Heaven knows...."

Yet fanatics welcome the Rapture, forgetting the true lessons Christ taught us about tolerance and love. We worry when we shouldn't, and basically miss the point of faith altogether, endorsing death for those we don't agree with.

Hardly seems Christ-like.

Religion is a danger to the world.

Some of the biggest critics of Israel that I know are left-wing Jews. But, even more vocal are groups of non-Israeli religious Jews. Not a lot of people know that in 1948, many of them circulated flyers in the ME exclaiming "why do you violate God's law?"

But yeah. The Irgun/Likud crowd and Falwell types actually want Armageddon. That astounds me. What black-hearted, evil place does that come from? How soulless do you have to be to wish that on the world?

Religion is a disease. Too true, but apparently, it is its own cure.

That' why I like Orthodox Christianity. The same since day one, zero changes, no room to morph it to fit your lifestyle or justify your personal nonsense.

It's completely unchanged throughout the years.

Don't know about 'rooting' for anyone, but I don't understand American obssession over some crummy piece of Desert due to Stone Age fairy tales.

Israel was mentioned no less than 34 freaking times during the
US Presidential debates & I'm honestly sick of this countries influence on our politics.

China is kicking butt in the very mineral rich Africa & trying to make inroads in Central/South America while the US gets mired down with Israeli obssession.

This was pure gold, especially at the end. Regrettable that it was overlooked.
