Nice work man!

Agree with ya on the play-off outlook just don't want to say it yet.

Its true the fat lady has not sung yet and I will continue to "keep hope afloat".

I still think Seattle has a tough schedule coming up. They will most likely lose to chicago and San Fran. They still have to play Arizona and St. louis again which were close games the first time. They could easily end up 9-7

I still think the niners could drop 4 or even 5 games remaining on their schedule. Especially us getting to beat them h2h. Wish the Rams could have beat them straight up on the fg, but a tie may hurt them as well.

Lets see how it all plays out. Lots of season left. We just need to take care of our part.

Looking at the schedule that is positioned on the wall directly in front of my desk, with my black and gold goggles on, @New York is the one game that stands out to me. Cold, on the road, Eli is capable of having a good game, etc...

We owe San Fran a good beating at home.
I can't acknowledge the Cowgirls.
We own Atlanta.
We are just better than the other teams.

While finishing the season 6-1 (or better) is extremely difficult and unlikely, its by no means out of reach given our offensive capabilities.

One game at a time though.

I think this win over the falcons has us all riding high. Next week vs Oakland hopefully that trend will continue, but to be realistic, I think we should hold back the enthusiasm until we beat SF. If we beat SF that's when it's going to start getting really interesting. We'd have the Falcons and Giants, and two home divisional games. We have owned both the Gmen and the falcons for the past few years, so there is a real possibility we could win those games. At that point, all bets are off, and the Saints could very well be marching into the playoffs.

ETA: Oh and the cowgirls. frick them. Romo gonna romo

This.

I'm not worried about the remaining road schedule except for maybe the Falcons. New York is playing shitty and Dallas is well, Dallas.

Prior to the season starting, I said we had a difficult schedule and would have trouble making the playoffs. Our early losses to horrible teams are going to make it nearly impossible now.

We've lost to one of the worst teams in the league, Chiefs(1-8), team tied for 2nd worst record, Panthers (2-7), and a team tied with the 3rd worst record, Redskins (3-6). You can't do this an expect to go to the playoffs.

We'll have to win out and go 11-5 to have a chance, IMO. Even then, we'll probably need help. We would need Tampa, Minnesota, and Seattle to keep losing to get the other wildcard opposite the Packers/Bears.

Wrong. You absolutely can. This isn't college, playoff teams are not decided in a popularity contest.

It's happened before, teams start slow then get hot later in the year and make it in. Once you're in the playoffs it's anybodies game.

We're still a looooong looong way from talking seriously about football in January, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. At least not yet.

No joke. This board is so bipolar it's not even funny.

After Denver, a lot of posts were about tanking and who we should get with our top 5 pick. Mingo, Montgomery, Jones or Moore.

After Atlanta, we may lose one more this season and our only issue is who we will play in the first round of the playoffs.

So Mora is saying that a 4-5 team who is in a four way tie for the ninth worst record in the NFC

We also have the best "strength of victory" in the NFC, (2nd best overall) and are only 2 games out of the Wildcard spot, and still play 3 teams who are in front of us in the standings.

We still haven't had a winning record this year and we are past the half way point of the season.

Look, I agree that we have a team that is probably better than our record and we are improving and I'm glad about it. I'm just saying that someone saying a 4-5 team isn't going to the playoffs isn't much of a leap. Tell me when SVP says "The Saints are going to the playoffs this year!" Then we'll have something to talk about IMO.

Mora is right

Saints can win six of seven, that's not the issue

it's everyone in front of them needing to fall flat on their faces

still a long haul to go

That's just it. I think we need more help than we will get. I just say lets keep winning games and see what happens. If it does, great. If not, I won't be crushed. We would have played hard and know where we stand headin into next season.

Well, it's gonna be tough. You put yourself in an 0-4 hole and it's really hard to climb out of it.

They'll be in the picture at the end, which may be all we can ask for. Get back to 5-5 and then worry about the rest imo.

I agree. They've shown more heart than most of us gave them. Keep winning and see what happens is acceptable to me at this point

gotta keep winning though
