Hey man, the system is in place. If all you want in life is a nice car and food, then the opportunity is there. Quit your job and find one making below the poverty level according to your number of children, and you too can be living the dream.

Yeah , because AFDC(welfare), public housing & food stamps take up an entire 1 friggin % of the US budget 
That whole 1% of the US friggin budget is killing us 
This is how the GOP keeps the a certain ignorant part of their base angry when we have other serious budget issues:

I'm generally a conservative/libertarian guy, and I agree that we need to take a serious look at welfare reform, but other entitlement programs are going to bankrupt your kids long before wefare will.

So a grand total of $122b, total budget is $3.7T. Its a fricking pittance. Cut it to zero, but it wont make a dent.
The big boys of the budget are homeland security/defense, medicare/medicaid, and SS.

he probably meant less than 1% of GDP, which is accurate.

Funny the way the libs throw around the trillion dollar figure, the hundred billion dollar figure doesn't mean much.

Fact. When I managed real estate, we had some units that were Section 8 housing. One section 8 tenant in particular, drove to our office in a brand new 7-series and paid his part in cash every month.
