As long as you are 17, yep.

There is one in mine...

I just leave it on the seat so it wouldn't be considered "concealed". I think if you stash it under the seat, in the glove box, or in the door pocket you could be in trouble.

Doesn't matter where it is in LA. It is legal to leave it open or conceal it.

OP should know that LE really appreciates it if you tell them first, instead of them asking and finding out you have one.

This^^ No matter what always let them know you have a gun in the truck. And NEVER be fidgeting around with it. If it is loaded DON'T try to unload it, just let it be and let the officer know you have it.

Do not let the cop know by saying "I have a gun" as he is walking up to your window. The rookie on the passenger side might get the itchy finger.

I have heard this, but have never asked a law officer.

Like I said, I just leave accessible it on the seat, and throw a shirt or something over it if I lock my truck and go inside somewhere for an extended period of time.

The one time I had to, I just said that there is a weapon in my console. That's usually when you get, "Sir would you please step out of the vehicle."

Your vehicle is considered an extension of your home in Louisiana. You can have it concealed or in plain view.

Again, this is something I have heard, but have never seen in black and white.

I mean, look at it this way... you can't jack off in the wal-mart parking lot in your truck and expect the same privacy as your home.

I keep a loaded pistol in my truck and in my desk drawer.

I've never thought twice about it being against the law to have it in your vehicle.

Does loaded mean, one in the chamber or just a loaded clip?

I keep one in the chamber in both my truck and my desk.

I'm still curious about having it in my truck on campus.

I remember reading a thread where someone said it's legal, but I don't really see how.

I told a Trooper one time that there was a gun in the car, he asked if I was going to shoot him, if not then it was fine...

According to my buddy it is completely legal as long as you don't take it out of your vehicle. He says that he's ran it by some lawyers, CC instructors, and a district attorney. He also keeps some kind of legal pamphlet in his truck detailing the law incase a campus cop tries to give him shite for it.
