This is the first I have heard of her. She is pretty badass.

I never heard of her either until a few years ago when I was going to work one morning at sunrise. After I parked my car, I heard this incredible violin music playing. I followed the music and there she was playing with her band in Aquatic Park here in SF. Luckily, I had my video camera with me and I was able to get about 25 minutes of great close up shots of her singing and playing.

Here's more of Lili.

I don't even know what "contemporary musician" means.

It means a living person who plays music.

That's different than "contemporary musician".

I meant "contemporary" as defined as "Current; modern".

Fair enough. I think Lili Haydn would have fit into either definition.

By your definition I would have to go with Jack White. Here he is with The Raconteurs.

Lili plays a wide range of music. Everything from Jazz to Acid Rock.

She is called the Jimi Hendrix of the violin. I can't find the link on YouTube yet but she plays a great set with one of the original members of Pink Floyd, Roger Waters.

Right now I am using an old computer that can't download videos but I will definitely check him out.
Thanks.

Thanks for finding it.

Lili's violin solo at the end just blew everyone away.
