Only 2 people killed any geese on opening weekend & neither of those teams is in the lead. TT6 is in 2nd place, 6 points behind Team old school.

Everyone was asked to post where they were hunting multiple times on the other thread before we drafted the teams. The reason for that was so that everyone would have a fair chance at getting a few rice field guys on their team. Nobody wanted a draft & so we just picked teams. I posted where I was hunting several times & the goose issue was never brought up.

The sad part is that everyone who wants to see the points for dark geese lowered is really going to be butt hurt during the 2 week conservation season between splits. Snow geese are 1 point each & I fully intend on putting my 800+ goose rags to good use.

The contest has already started & for that reason I think that the rules should not be changed. If we do this again next season, we can look at it again then.

So the one person who has a good goose spot likes the five points.
It is what it is but you are the only person who objects moving it to the 3 points from this point on. And only one person ever brought up it should be five in the first place.

1st off, I'm not the person that proposed the change, Jimbeam did. LINK

Capt ST (Team old School is in the lead & killed 0 geese) & AboveGroundPool (who is on your team) also agreed with this rule change.

Nobody objected to this until I killed 4 specks on opening weekend.

There is only 1 fair way to decide this. We have 25 people in this contest. Vote & marjority rules.

Everyone please post what you prefer. Dark geese go to 3 points or stay at 5. If there is a change, it's not going to be retroactive. Points already on the board will remain on the board.

Keep dark geese at 5 points

Well I think a vote is probably the best way to settle it seeing as how everyone has an equal amount of money involved. FWIW I'll be glad to take anyone on a goose hunt that wants to go.

Regardless of whether or not Jsmoke killed 4 this past weekend, IMO Specks are high quality waterfowl and should hold just as much value as any other "trophy" in this contest. The same argument can be made that guys hunting timber will have an advantage with the mallards. Plus, you can only kill 2 anyway, I really don't see what the big deal is here.

**EDIT**

Just realized that mallards were 2 points and specks were 5 points, I thought they were the same value. I say dark geese and mallards/ sprigs/ canvasbacks should be worth the same, but it would be much easier to just make all dark geese and big ducks worth 2

Geese 3

And while we at it greenheads should be 3 as well. This way those who don't have geese still have the chance to score big.

They are a trophy and thats why i proposed 3 pts. Limit of 6 ducks now equal to limit of 2 geese. At five points two geese is too much to overcome for regular duck

I think Geese should be lower because anyone in SWLA can almost kill 2 almost everyday.

I agree, I did not realize that there was that much of a point discrepancy

Keep em at 5! You're the one that's been killing them and you're on my team!

Honestly Idc either way. I say we leave it though because that's what we all agreed on in the first place.

But a limit of 6 big ducks is worth 12 points where as a limit of specks is only 10. Geese are harder to hunt IMO, definitly harder to bring down.

If we really want to put speckled belly geese & mallards on the same level, make it 4 points for the geese. You can kill 4 mallards vs only 2 geese per day.

Yea but you go shooting geese you might kill 4 teal, 2 specks, and 3 snows.

I am in the timber only killing 6 ducks.
