Can you put Mett in the shotgun/pistol most of the time....

and still have an powerful running game? It seems to me that he is much more effective when not under center.

Nevada does a pretty good job with it.

Alabama took most of the snaps out the pistol or gun in 2009 and Ingram won the Heisman.

In '03 towards the end of the year, we started to run Vincent out of the gun a fair amount and with a lot of success. I think a lot depends on the type of back you have. I think we'd likely only run Hill or Ford out of the gun.

we also essentially made David Jones a FB and ran JV behind him. underrated move by Jimbo there.

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that most of his problems w hurries, sacks, and bad passes come on plays where he is under center. I will be interested in watching this the rest of the season.
