you hear monty and anthony davis and other players talk about "hornet basketball" and the way they play the game... will they all of a sudden be like "This is Pelican ball"... or this is how we play "crescent ball"... just seems so forced then and disingenuous.

Lol, it's still just a name. If they change it, it's still a name. Just call it the new name  it's not that hard. It's not like the name depicts how they play.

Do you ever hear someone say "we just have to go out and play Heat basketball? Or 76er Basketball? Thunder Basketball?

Saying the team name is better then saying "we go out to play Williams ball or Mexican coach basketball or whatever the coach of thunder name ball."

Only way they can make this go smoothly is to come up with some badass uniforms and signage and everything else that goes into a rebrand. THEN maybe we could all get down with it.
Until that point, the Hornets they will stay
