How many times have we ran it this year and what was our greatest success story?

Do you think we see it again?

Sure as hell hope not. Miles ruined a great game plan with a few knuckle head calls, including this one. Give the ball to Hill or AT LEAST line up Ware in shotgun so he has a chance.

I would've been pleased with a fg there.

I think it was the right personnel package. I just would have liked to see them run the option out of the shotgun in that situation instead of the sneak.

Yeah, as soon as i saw ware up there i said i didn't like it... the running back has no forward momentum built up at the snap as well as their NT was playing out of his mind.

This.

The purpose of the ___cat is to have 3 running backs in the game and thus 3x3 options so the defense cant tell what's coming. The tight formation we had reduced our options to only 3, and Bama will win that with 9 in the box every time.

I would have like to see that formation on 4th down in a spread formation and ware in the shotgun and a called option to the left with a pass option. Have the play flow left and if the corner sheds the block, have the WR peel off for an easy completion. It's a wrinkle in the play that no one has seen and it was needed at such a crucial time in the game.

Shep at qb + ford in as rb = read option. We ran this play against UGA a few years back with Shep at qb and Holliday at rb...it worked to perfection.

What the hell is wrong with handing the ball off to Hill for an "over the top" dive?? He gained 2-3 yards (minimum)at least 3 times in during the night with this play....prior poster is correct...no momentum with a QB sneak, regardless of whether it's executed without juggling the snap or any other snafus. Sometimes, keeping things simple is just not "cool" enough, I guess.

Les, I've supported you through and through over the good and bad years, but this game you out-guessed yourself at least 4 times when simple logic dictated you keep it simple, Stupid. I still support you because the players love you and you always field a spirited and talented team - but, dammit.... get your head out of your arse and coach smart...."trickery" was not needed Saturday night - our players were BETTER than Bama's players, and all you did was "extend the myth" that Bama's team is better and Saban can out-coach you even on his worst day and your best day! THAT IS WHAT IS THE MOST SADDENING PART OF THIS WHOLE AFFAIR - IT AIN'T TRUE, BUT THE MEDIA WANTS TO KEEP BELIEVING....SO, THE MYTH CONTINUES!

All I know is the Ware Cat formation we used to run up the gut was a bad one. I would have loved a pitch out left to Hill and have him burn the outside up!

Can't wait for next year!

For the same reason we drove the ball down the field in the first half by running it and stop running to pass and go three and out for a field goal.
