We try to tag 3 1/2 yr old bucks or older, unless it's one of the children, grandchildren, nephews, etc hunting. I tagged a 3 1/2 yr old last year around Thanksgiving so I'm hoping to see an older one this year but this guy looks 3 1/2 and it would be extremely hard not to pull the trigger. I count 11 points. We call him "side-tine" for fun. He also has split brow tines.

I like it. And no one has seen him in the woods. These pics of him are in pre-season right before bow started. He was the best of three of the bachelor group.

that's a nice buck, but he definitely has more potential than what he's showing you right now. in another year, he would be massive

It would be hard to hold off, but like chops said, a year would be awesome for him. That jump from 3 to 4 is BIG!

I'd let him go, but I couldn't guarantee anything in a quick decision situation. He'll be a hoss one day.

We had a deer like this on camera last year that we called bucket head. Looked like you could put a 5 gallon bucket in perfectly in the middle of his rack. We decided that if you got a shot with your bow, take him. If you are him with the gun, let him live. Then, the only non family/close friend that we hunt with shot him with the gun at the end of gun season. He no longer hunts with us.

I hate when people do that shite. Never fails in my group of hunters that some dip shite is going to wax a little 8 point or something the last couple days... Well, hell some of them shoot little deer year round, but that's a rant for another day.

We have a pretty good group of people. Now its only family and very close friends. The management plan has been in.place for a while but we should have anymore problems.

I agree. I wouldn't fault anyone for shooting him, but he would be awesome with another year.

This is a legit WYSI. These other threads today are dumb.

That's great. My dad, brother, and I hunt with friends, ourselves, then family on different places. We're lucky to have a lot of options. The friends are the one's that struggle with being trigger happy. They're good people, but it's like "why the frick did you shoot that" sometimes.

This is a legit, WYSI.

If I saw him I would have that typical battle in my head. "Holy shite, that's him. Ok, time to nut up and let him walk. (Stands broadside and feeds forever) Damn, he's a beauty... Will I ever see him again if I let him walk? Is this my only chance? .....Hmm...... POW!"

Haha I right there with you, man. It's easy to pass on them from behind the computer screen.

Here's a neat pic of him in June. Just gives an idea of how much their antlers grow. Just thought I would share it, it's neat to compare their antler growth if you're lucky enough to get pics of them at the beginning of velvet and then the end.

Aint gonna lie. On the place I'm on now, I'd shoot him. I've been on other places where I wouldn't even think about it, but this is LA and meat comes into the equation. If he's got bad timing, he's dead around here.
