Did they secure the remnants of the door, or did they just leave her apartment open and unsecured? 
I think they will be doing a little more apologizing after the litigation begins, which will result in taxpayer funds once again being used to cover for the mistakes of the frickup squad!

You know just as well as I do that the GED possessing grease monkey doesn't have the balls to reply to those messages. He has more important things to do, like standing in the grease pit yelling all clear when he has the oil filter installed.

the length of the investigation has no bearing on a last minute mistake, they happen.
