Sumlin might be wondering why he didn’t use doghouse resident Christine Michael more and give the 220-pound senior more than eight carries. LSU called upon five backs, all of whom weighed between 216 and — no typo — 272 pounds. J.C. Copeland, Miles’ battering fullback, is so large, he has to wear a license plate.

It’s no coincidence the last six national champions have emerged from that league because they play the best defense and run the ball best. And they’ll occasionally complete a few passes along the way.

Is this guy an LSU fan? subtle troll is Subtle.
quote:

“Let me tell you something, if they get some more power in them and can switch it up with speed and the pass, it can work in the SEC,” Montgomery said. “This is not how we normally play. It was like playing hide-and-seek all day. Manziel’s going to grow as a passer and become even a more dominant runner. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins the Heisman in two years.”

This is a scary truth. If A&M can do this, the SECW is going to be a bitch of a division to play in.

It already is a bitch division to play in, and we're finding that out each week as the newbie.

And yeah, we knew it would be.

I didn't expect LSU fans or players to give us any props. Classy kid there.

Truth is if LSU doesn't tweak it's offensive philosphy they will be the ones not keeping up in the future.

Was at A&M this week. Fans were classy. Great environment. Saw some pretty darn good tailgating going on. I believed going in the Aggies would start fast and we would have to adjust. The only thing that I didn't understand was the booing of players who went down with injuries.

There's no excuse for that. Whether fake or not, it's not up to anyone else to determine if a player is injured. Just clap when he gets up.

The booing occured because AtM felt LSU was using the injury ploy to slow down the game

That's correct. We like to think we experienced that vs Florida, and we know the Big 12 schools would do that too vs some of the other up-tempo offenses.

Hell, I'm 99% sure we faked injuries last year vs Okie State.

Booing players is stupid. If they are faking, it's not against the rules. If they aren't, you become a complete idiot.

Good comments from a clasy badass Sam Montgomery.

When you run a hurry up the whole game and players are not subbing in and out, players do get tired in spurts. When they get tired and are not as ready for the next play as much as they are use to, players get nicked up. The Aggies booed Craig Loston an LSU safety when he went down with an ankle injury. He has had injuries his whole career and has done his best to play through it. He has missed a lot of time as well. So when Loston was booed, the fans were booing a player who has been fighting ankle injuries for much of his time at LSU. LSU has been fighting injuries all season. Just one of those years. We started 3 freshman on the Offensive line and in addition we have 14 total freshman that have started this season including Saturday. So not all of these guys have been previously thrown into the fire against that style of hurry up. I was surprised that the first time a player went down, the fans immediately assumed he was faking I guess and booed him. If you are going to boo him when he goes down, don't bother clapping when he gets helped off the field. You can't have it both ways.
