Will he blitz a ton to test Mett and Oline or get it done with no bliz? Or try to grind out a win with no taking chances on D?

Will we see at least one misdirection play from LSU?

Load up the box and dare us to throw.

He's a smart coach and knows how to break down an offense. He'll put 7 or 8 in the box until we show we can do anything else.

Nope. Don't know what that is.

Load up the box and dare us to throw.

I think this will happen every game until LSU proves they can throw with consistency, pass block, and receivers catch it.

I will say, he is definitely the one who gave the remaining teams on our schedule the blueprint on how to attack Bo Pelini's defense in 2007. That said, LSU wins 17-14 on Saturday night in spectacularly ugly fashion.

Whatever his DC comes up with. He's not a defensive coach.

Simple gameplan....STOP THE RUN....That is it....This is what they will attempt to do...Single safety, load the box and throw a few blitz packages at an unproven QB and try and rattle him to make a mistake...

I think teams have an easier time loading up the box against us this year for one main reason (not saying there aren't other reasons)... IMO that main reason being that we don't have a receiver who can't be covered 1v1.

Not too many teams would have tried 1v1 coverage on RR last season. Where as this season it does not appear that we have that receiver who is a mis-match for opposition's CBs. No height advantage, no speed advantage, and I really haven't seen any of our receivers blow me away with their route running. Not that we are bad in any of those departments, just the fact that a very fast WR or a fast and tall WR is alot less likely to stay blanketed by a single CB than our current WRs seem to.

The Dark Lord of the SEC will let Lorenzo do all the Defense calls, it's worked so far this year. We don't blitz a lot in general b/c our front 4 are so good at getting pressure. That means our LB's can drop in pass protection, or for this game purposes, shoot the gaps for your RB's.

Offensively, I would expect us to do what we've done and use Shaw with the zone read. We will go deep early to try to keep you from committing a safety to spy Shaw.

I think Spurrier knows y'all's punter is > than ours, so he's going to need to pick up more offensive yards to just maintain field position. Shaw can throw farther than our punter can kick, so if we get caught in some 3rd and 10+'s I wouldn't be surprised to see us throw bombs and acknowledging that they might be intercepted.

Understatement of the century. USC Spec. Teams Net Punting: 109 LSU Spec. Teams Net Punting: 7

One thing that isn't being talked about that I expect to play a large role in the game.

I think he pays somebody (Lorenzo Ward) to do that for him.

HBC efforts are focused on scheming for the LSU defense (with no disrespect to anyone, this is a more difficult challenge, at least on paper, for the USCe team this Saturday, than either the special teams or USCe Defense vs. LSU offense).

Very true, as well as the Red Zone defense. We're ranked 9th and y'all are 115th. We just got to get the ball down there, but that isn't going to be easy.
