Unmittigated proof Eddie Vedder is an ahole. I think HBO got a bunch of murderers out of jail. I really wish those kids were still in jail. Why did they get involved in this shite?

I never thought those kids killed anyone, but even if they did, they've spent plenty of time behind bars.

I think they bragged about doing it trying to scare other kids and it went really bad for them.

Your posts are really confusing me. Do you think they did it or do you think they just bragged about it stupidly? And do you think innocent people being in prison for life isn't a big deal?

For the record, after watching the documentaries I wasn't 100% sure those guys were innocent, but I definitely wasn't 100% they were guilty either.

I am not sure what to think honestly. The kids bragged about it at a baseball park prior to getting arrested. The police folks were saying Miskelley was admitting to it and giving details he couldnt have known. The only reason it was ever news is because of HBO and atracted celebrities and such. Its just a mess of BS now. They were tried by a jury and were convicted.

why is it ok for HBO generated a path where these kids got resources to defend themselves they never would have had access to?

That dude had like an IQ of like 70. Plus, wasn't he interviewed for like 12+ hours and didn't he confess to shite that didn't even happen, like the kids being raped or something? I am not expert on this and I am not saying they were definitely innocent, but that is what I remember hearing.

If they were truly innocent, which sounds totally plausible, wouldn't this be a good thing?

There was a confession. Thats better than any physical evidence. There are references to kids being in school or one was at a wrestling meet. HBO turned the whole thing into such a circus its hard to dicipher any of it.

The kids were guilty of being white trash and that is enough to convict probably 50% of all the folks in jail. Why were these kids singled out to receive this type assistance? They got out due to HBO and influential supporters. Is that right? Is that really justice?

Again, I haven't seen these docs in ages and maybe the filmmakers spun it in the kid's favor, but wasn't the confession by a borderline retarded kid that was being pressured by police, and wasn't the confession wildly inaccurate?

The police said off the record he was confessing in the cop car well before the interrogation. Am I to believe every professional person involved was so determined to solve the case they did not care if they were right? The people that live in the same community? Does not compute.

You seem to be of the opinion that even if these kids were truly innocent, it is bullshite that they received extra help and were let out, which seems to me like a totally fricked up stance. Maybe I have misinterpreted your opinion, but that is what I am gathering.

It seems that the system caved due to the effort and interest created by this show. That maybe worse than the initial potential injustice.

pop culture has convinced the parents of the victims to change their opinions based on nothing more than the hysteria created by the show. Its truly unique.

It appears lack of DNA at a crime scene described as a dump site led to the kids getting out. That is not the same thing as clear evidence of non-guilt.

Have you even seen the other two documentaries? There is a ton of evidence against the convictions. In an extremely religious white trash town when "cultism" was at a peak...people went manic and had to blame someone. Saying that the system "caving" is worse than putting one kid on death row and two kids in jail for the rest of their life is one of the more idiotic things I have ever heard.

The kid they interrogated was borderline retarded. Think Forrest Gumpish. They completely turn off the tapes for most of the confessions and lead him to respond yes to questions by loading them.

Now I am not saying they are 100% innocent...but they sure are a A LOT closer to that than guilty.
