So who isn't making the playoffs in the West if we are?

Sacramento, Houston, Phoenix, and . . .

These are locks to be out since we are locked in . . . so who?

top 5 seeds from last year will all make it back in (LAs, OKC, San An, Memphis). I'd bet that denver and likely dallas will be in. so that's basically the rest of the teams vying for one spot. it's a tough conference, man. not sure we have it yet, but i think in a few years. I'll be happy if the team doesn't finish last in the division, TBH.

if eric gordon plays a full season, we have a chance at 6-8....if he is oft-injured, we don't have a shot. JMO

Agree with Denver, but I don't know about Dallas. Minnesota should be pretty tough this year, too. It's going to be tough to make the playoffs unless Davis picks things up very quickly, Lopez is a bit better than I suspect, and Gordon plays 70+ games (all certainly possible). I'll be happy with simple improvement as the year goes on and 35 or so wins. We're too weak at the 1 and 3 right now, though I love our frontcourt depth and think Rivers will end up being a really good backup to both the 1 and 2 that still plays a bit over 25 minutes a game. I don't see him as the PG of the future, but he'll play a very important role for us.

Only if they have some pretty significant injury issues. Right now, they're better than us at 4 out of 5 starting positions, though I think we have better depth. Anderson, Smiht, and Rivers playing against other teams's backups will give us a pretty significant advantage.

Lakers
Spurs
Thunder
Nuggets
TWolves
Grizzlies

...pretty much locks to be better than us.

Warriors, Trailblazers, and Clippers very well could be as well

If I had to guess the entire Western Conference playoffs today, seedings included, I would go with:

1) Spurs
2) OKC
3) LAL
4) Denver
5) Utah
6) Memphis
7) LAC
8) NOH

Thanks for the list.

Appreciated.

My list was above. Those 3, us, the rest. Maybe we pass someone devastated with injuries, and we're close to Portland.

Forgot about Golden State. They have quite a bit of talent if they can pull it all together.

I think Golden State can be a playoff team if Curry and Bogut stay healthy (but that probably won't happen).
I mean check out their backup five:
PG- Gentleman Jack
SG- Brandon Rush
SF- Richard Jefferson
PF- Carl Landry
C- Biedrins

That's a really solid second unit.

Memphis is a lock for the playoffs. Bayless is an upgrade over Mayo. Darrell Arthur will be back after week 2, upgrade over cunningham. Conley, Gay, Randolph, and Gasol all starting the season healthy, for maybe the first time ever. Though I think we'll finish 5-7 instead of 3-5 range. Nuggets looked to improve a lot this off season, so I think they jump ahead of us.

If the Hornets had a PG I'd say they were a lock. I think they'll compete for the 8 spot, but if I'm being completely honest with myself, I think they'll just miss out this year. 4 to 8 games out.

if the hornets are in the hunt with a month left in the season, i'd be a happy camper.

people forget how sneaky good memphis is. if they can stay healthy, they're a top 4 seed.

I feel like that's been the take on Golden State for the past 10 years, yet they always end up in the lottery.
