I was talkin to some fellow St. Louis fans the other night and they were saying we should trade Motte bc he is to shaky and use either Rosenthal or Joe Kelly as our closer. I really like both Rosenthal and Kelly and they each have potential but I told my friends they were morons. Am I correct or am I as ignorant as they seem to me?

They are morons.

Mottes first season as a closer and he ties for the saves lead...trade him he was shaky!!11!1

Motte is still developing his slider which continues to get better and better, and after another offseason and Spring spent on it, he's going to be nasty(ier) next season.

Cards just need a solid lefty in the pen, and with Rosenthal, Boggs, Motte at the back end for years to come, game.set.match.

That's what I said plus I think Kelly has solid potential to be in the rotation some day.

They were focusing on motte blowing seven save opportunities out of 47 which isn't the best percentage but I think it's plenty good enough especially since he has been money in big games

For your first year closing with virtually no other pitch than your fastball/cutter and a rarely used developing slider, absolutely.
