When was there a Friday the 13th remake?

Can't have been worse than the Elm Street remake

Friday, and it's not even close. Friday captured the spirit of the franchise, while Nightmare missed the mark big time, imo.

Source: I'm a much bigger Nightmare fan than Friday.

I'm a huge Freddy guy and don't like Jason all that much but even I would say that the Friday remake was eons better, which made the Nightmare remake that much more of a dissapointment

Definitely Friday. Was much better. Nightmare was atrocious. Plus my boy Sam from supernatural is in Friday.

I'll go with Friday the 13th also, mainly because of her

I really wanted to like A Nightmare on Elm St but they made Freddy look so ridiculous I couldn't concentrate on the movie

She had a really big soft core sex scene in that movie. I really want to know how actors such as her are able to sit through those scenes at a world premiere, with their parents possibly in the audience, and not be thinking how awkward it is.

Friday the 13th had better tittays.

I really liked Freddy vs Jason. Very campy and entertaining.

I kept waiting to see the lead female's tits through that whole fricking movie and they never came out. I liked the movie but that pissed me off

Didn't see the Nightmare remake. The F13 one was okay.

Yea, the whole tone of the movie was off. I've kind of put it out of memory, but in no particular order, my gripes were:

Freddy's look
The lack of smartass/ comedic Freddy remarks
Trying to make Freddy a sympathetic character?!?
The nightmare scenes left a lot to be desired

In the original I don't recall him doing this too much. Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

He did. That's why the public loved the character, but he got more ridiculous from movie to movie.

Like Froman said, it was there in the first movie, but it just kept growing film to film, almost to the point of turning Freddy into a caricature of himself by the end of the original run. Wes reigned it in with New Nightmare, but the schitck returned to near slapstick levels in Freddy v. Jason.

Either way, it was non-existent in the remake, if I remembering right, which misses a huge part of the spirit of the franchise.
