We are getting what we wanted here guys. We wanted more passing and we are getting it. Obviously we see why we ran so much before the recievers aren't what we and the coaches expected they were. Blocking is garbage.

I think what we are seeing is a transition period for our O. Going from a 75% run to more of a balanced game with MAJOR growing pains.

Poor O line play
Atrocious WR play

What the hell happened to OBJ? Dude was a stud as a freshman, now he's a liability.

Tards get what they want and still not happy...

It comes down to execution..... Beat up oline plus inconsistant WR play equals bad offense....

I agree. I think OBJ is trying to do too much and playing tight trying to live up to the hype

Development of the players?
Play calling that makes us weaker?
Literally no rational corrections at half since the UGA game last year?
Head coaches philosophy?

Gotta like that ^. When Mett did make the throws, the WR's would make the catches. The whole Off is just way out of sync. That first drive was nice. After that, nothing would work together.

At what point to we have to hold the players accountable for throwing, catching, blocking, etc.?

Agreed.....at this point we should go back to bruising the ball running (if our O Line is up to the task) because passing ain't working for us and I don't think it is worth 2-3 more losses to get it right.

Sounds about right.

I said yesterday I'd love to sit with Les and ask him what exactly it is we try to do on offense. I mean what does he think that we can go out there and do and beat damn near anyone on the field with?

LSU's receivers look like studs - problem is they just drop everything.

Program needs to buy some better tacky gloves. Les too concerned with physical specimens instead of recruiting guys who can just play and catch. No great receiver wants to play in a ground and pound straight ahead run system and for a coach with QBs who suck.

Ok smart guy now break it down for jus the Towson and UF game since those are the 2 worst games we had. Beginning of the season we ran most of the time and everyone was bitching to throw it. The last 2 weeks have been noticeable more thrown alsmost to the point of forcing it. It is a shock to the system. This team was built to run and now seems we are trying to change that some so we have hicc ups

i'm sorry that i don't overreact to a few games and anomalies. We are going to have games where we throw more, and games where we run more. And here's a shocker, it's been like that every year since Les Miles has been here.

And, when you start playing a good DL like Florida with an injured and sucky OL, they aren't going to let you run the ball. You're gonna have to throw it a little more. My point is that Les Miles' philosophy isn't going to change. Sure, you'll have some games that are slightly different.

We passed 57% of the time against Towson and 50% of the time against UF (mainly because they stuffed the run and we were in a position to have to try to score the last drive or 2). We had 9 straight pass attempts in the last 5:43 of the game, because we were actually trying to score. That happens and it skews the stats.

With Les Miles, we are a 60-70% rushing team. We are still that this year and will always be.

btw, prior to the last two drives when we HAD to throw the ball, we had ran the ball 61% of the time against Florida.

We aren't getting any more passing than we've ever gotten with Les Miles. So, your original post is flawed.

Florida ditched Charlie the Hutt as its offensive coordinator and brought in a brand new offensive coordinator - Brent Pease, who's been coaching up at Boise State. No experience coaching in the SEC. And he seems to be doing fine, w/ minimal "growing pains." It CAN be done. Miles does not have the brainpower to run a successful offense in the SEC.

I think most people would be happy with a passing game that is based off of play-action, or drop back passes that are actually called on neutral downs. The only reason our passing attempts were up last Saturday is because the running game produced absolutely nothing. There is a reason the running game hasn't done anything since Idaho. Auburn, TOWSON, and Florida did not even respect LSU's passing game. They knew that they didn't have to defend it, because Les Miles is too stubborn to actually attack a defensive secondary. The very few pass routes that are called, are deep outs run to the sidelines that produce a 15 yard gain at most. It does absolutely nothing to move safeties out of the running lanes.

While I think you are partially correct, I think that most people are seriously underestimating how bad injuries have hurt our OL. The backups either aren't very good, are being put in a position to fail, or just aren't executing very well. We also lost the guy who won the starting job at RB during the offseason.

also, we've been extremely predictable in the running game. No misdirection at all. We've run about 3 different running plays and all we do is flip them.

In addition, it is extremely difficult to attack a defense downfield when your OL is struggling as much as we have been. Our OL has really handcuffed everything this team wants to do.

yeah and the last pass he dropped was total lack of concentration,
but the fumble was not totally all his fault- when he caught that pass ,I'm sure in the back of his mind-he was thinking that, we have not scored all day in the redzone and we REALLY need me to score to win this game, so he sticks out the stiff-arm to ward off the defender the guy gets under the stiff arm and, that disables OBJ from being able to bring his left arm down to secure the ball with two hands. If he had to do it again, he would probably realize his jobs is to catch and secure the ball and not try to make up for other players inability to perform in critical moments which put stress on the team. ----------------------------------------------------------------
