Because students are classless dumb fricks.
You're welcome.

I'd ask the same people who are most likely to think teabagging another male is a normal, funny prank.
(Hint: Not the Bammers)

Who cares? When they banned Tiger Rag, the band became dead to me. They can play whatever shitty gangnam style song they want (along with every other college band . . . how original ).

That pretty much sums it up.
And it wasn't just students yelling profanities, it was thousands of students in unison chanting profanities along with the song.

+1. And it's really a shame. LSU's touchdown version of 'Tiger Rag' was one of the great traditions in CFB. 'Neck' was a newer, albeit fun song as well.
When Eugene Bourgeois from Ville Platte, Kent Dorfman from Covington, Chet Whittlebanger from Mandeville, Sal Puscatello from New Orleans,
Kip Uppington Smythe from Episcopal, Billy Joe-Bob and Cecil Dudenheffer from Dry Prong, and
Holly, Kelly, Heather, Megan, Allison, Magolly,
Patrice, Marsha, Babette, and Samantha from Sorority Row all grow up (probably when they reach their upper 30s) and realize what they have destroyed, it will be too late.
All so they can giggle at each other and hope that Mr and Mrs John Q. Season-Ticket-Holder heard them so they can get a reaction out of them.
What wonderful wonderful representatives of Louisiana State University sit in the NW corner of Tiger Stadium. Your parents should be so proud.

You act like it was the band's decision, slapdick. The athletic department shut it down. Learn your facts.
ETA: And I only know of maybe three college marching bands that have performed "Gangnam Style": Oregon, Ohio, and UCLA.

Do you think anyone in the band participated in the addition to the song?

Then piss on them, too, a-hole. That song belongs at LSU.
