I forgot Cam Jordan and Sedrick Ellis even play on this team...

I actually had to look it up to see if Cam Jordan was even still on the field...

So here's my question:

If SP is here, does the defense play better? We know the offense would - I guess that would help out the D...

But do we need to just gut this entire D?

Dont forget Joe Vitt is missing too. He's our LB coach. That's a huge deal.

As for Sp being there. I think the answer is maybe. We have absolutely no sidleine coaching presence. No one yells when players make mistakes. SP used to atleast scowl during games at a minimum. There's no telling if this intangible quality would improve them that much, but i think it would.

They have flashes of greatness and they have long bouts of shite. Offense and Defense both have this dichotomy this year. Every game it just seems like we are right there, we are about to click and suddenly we fall apart. It is that moment i think a team needs its HC, the troops need their general, and in particular we need Sean Payton.

Yeah if they had Vitt the gap between 32nd worst defesnse and 31st worst defense wouldn't be so big.

No question the team overall is better with SP.

Our MO is to score early and often and stress the opponent's D into a track meet with us. This narrows their game plan and makes it easier for our D to either bring pressure or defend a lead, whatever they choose. The lack of SP has definitely made our O mere mortals.

Also, SP is a master of observation and adjustments--we have no one to fulfill that function right now. I think there's no way we don't have at least one more TD as opposed to a FG today if SP was calling plays. Other stuff like missed blocks, stupid penalties, and dropped passes would disappear quickly.

Seriously Spags is at best the wrong choice for us. He needs to go.
