a couple of good ones was Sasha's Airdrawndagger and Danny Howells 24/7 (1st disc)

depends on how you define downbeats. I would call Airdrawndagger more house or ambient than downbeats.

You might want to try Shpongle. its genre busting but you will probably like it, definitely more psytrance, but its really quite fantastic. Shpongle is the only music I can think of that you could go clubbing too and listen to while drinking coffee and reading the paper on a sunday.

You could also try other ambient bands, like aphex twins or boards of canada. The new tycho album is also really good but that might be too jamtronica for you.

yea I used to love this album; looking for something similar to it that's more chill than house.

lots of good hip hop in that space. guts, wax tailor, and nujabes come to mind. Theivery corporation too, plus blockhead.

The ambient stuff probably fits the bill. Boards of canada / aphex twins.

But I go back to Shpongle. Give it a shot.

Boards of Canada is a good choice.

If you like atmospheric/ambient/glitch/ with some distortion, check out Belong. My brother is part of it and they make some interesting music
