My climbing trip up Mt. Thielsen (pics)

Mt. Thielsen was a very fun climb. A lot of scrambling below the summit block and a nice climb to the summit. Not super challenging but enough exposure to get the heart pumping. Since it was a club climb we protected it, although I know I could free climb it. But, better safe than sorry. The round trip was 10 miles and 3800 feet of elevation gain. Summit is 9182 feet. Enjoy the pics.
A lot of blown down trees.
Our climbers trail started at the junction of the Mt. Thielsen/PCT trails.
Our first full view of Mt. Thielsen.
Diamond lake, which is where we camped.
Summit block, time to climb a little.
Summit baby! Here's Crater Lake. Hard to tell. We could barely see the water, guess the level was low.
Mt. Thielsen is known as the lightning rod of the Cascades. Lightning strike evidence was everywhere.
We could see Mt. Bachelor, Broken Top, and the Three Sisters mountains.
Time to rap down.
Some other pics from below the summit.
Had an awesome time and I scratched another mountain off the list. I'm climbing Mt. Washington with my club next weekend . I've got more pics of my hike up Diamond peak but this is a lot of work on a phone. I'll post them tomorrow.

Great pics, but had to laugh at the sign nailed to a "tree".

It's just the way it is. You see blue diamond blazes at any sno park so you don't get lost.
I'm sure there are plenty of people that hike the PCT while the trail is snow covered.

Thanks. I'm guessing winter storms was told the soil there isn't the best.
