Mett's run for a first down early in the game was really weak,

he had a easy first down, but I could not believe how he let up at the end and let a smaller DB drill him to stop him just short. Embarrassing! What the hell was that? Boy needs to ditch that hair cut and grow some balls, bad!!

Guy looks like he's been slacking on his conditioning. Great arm talent, and I know he's not fast, but did anyone think he looked weak, physically??

I think the best words to describe his performance last night would be timid, unsure, indecisive.

If he wanted the first, he could have gotten it.. I'm all about a QB being smart and protecting himself but a close game on the road for the first... He has to make that play

He will learn. First road start and he had some jitters

Yea, just what we need, our QB taking more shots as if getting sacked 7 times wasn't enough

He slacked up on 2 first down runs IMO and came up short. Did not dive for them.

There were actually a couple of times it looked like he could have made the first without taking unecessary risks. It really looked (to me) more like he was not sure why the first down marker was than that he was trying to avoid hits.

Exactly. I am not knocking Mett at all, he is light years ahead in terms of passing. But when you are in a heated game, you gotta push for those extra couple feet and lay the ball out.

His eyes were really unfocused.

Mett gets hurt and we are done for season. Keep that in mind.

I used to hammer JJ on here bc he sucked and deserved it.
Some of you people are so stupid you cant see the forrest bc of the trees.
ZM made several clutch throws last night.. the guy keeps improving week after week.. ZMett is the least of this football teams problems.

Without him, we are def a 2-3 loss team.

yes I agree, additionally one of the reasons that ULM put 40 points on the scoreboard was because their quarterback was mobile and when AU dropped everyone in protection the QB was able to exploit the open running lanes, Mett, as we all know, is known for his passing. Additionally when the QB can run for an occasional first down when its needed he provides a spark for the offense that was not present last night

Alan Richer talked about this last night on the post game show with Charles Hanigriff. He said Mett needs to toughen up and "get meaner." He said he plays too soft.
