I know many Tiger fans hate to remember that game, but there was one moment that made it at least bearable for me:

I was in the tigerband, at that away game. After Kentucky won, just about the entire stadium rushed the field. The band played the alma mater then sat and waited for the crowd to clear out before marching out. The band happened to be right over one of the tunnels that the fans were clearing out through. The entire time, we were berated with insults, curses, middle fingers, etc.

Then suddenly, a wild drunk LSU fan appears. The guy was extremely intoxicated. He stumbled down to the bottom edge of the stadium, close to the corner where we were, looking over the crowd. People were doing the same yelling, bird-flipping and such, in addition to throwing random bits of paper at him. Suddenly, the guy drops zipper and begins pissing all over the fans below him. This goes on a couple of seconds, obviously pissing off (pun intended) the crowd below. The guy then takes off in a full sprint running from the police, who had obviously taken notice. We were instructed to ignore it and stop laughing because we were "representatives of the university."

I never heard anything else about it, but I still laugh like hell every time I randomly remember it (such as now).

And yeah, I know. CSB

Edit: I do not condone crowd pissing

Rushing the field after that win can NEVER vindicate the looks on their fans faces after they attempted to rush the field in 2002.

This.

Also, my funniest memory from that game was how absolutely wasted the entire LSU student section was. I have never heard such an epic failure of timing for singing along with the national anthem. There was literally an 8-10 second lag between LSU fans and the actual national anthem.

2 of my friends were on that Kentucky team, and I had to watch their big hits (Moncell Allen and Dicky Lyons) on repeat after the game with half of the Kentucky football team at the after party

Shitty memories but I remember Gary Danielson had a pretty badass quote going to commercial around the 4th quarter when our lead was slipping away...

Steltz just got blown up by a blocking receiver and CBS was showing the replay and over the SEC on CBS theme Danielson says, "no one is going to give you the national title.. it won't just be handed to you."

Remember LSU just beat Florida and was unanimous #1 and national title favorites. It was a fricking awesome moment but it sucks it was at our expense.

My crew took that roadtrip too. Awesome. Minus the game. Who knew a basketball fanbase could get so nasty towards visiting fans after a win.

I also remember some taunting going back and forth between our student section and some douche sitting in one of the suites above us. Good times.

I was at that game. I remember the LSU fans booing when the uk band played "my old ky home." The uk fans got their blue panties in a wad and the band proceeded to play "rock you like a hurricane."

As far as the uk fans that day. After the game the fans we encountered were just as shocked about them winning just as we were. No insults thrown our way...just a few "have a safe trip home," "I can't believe we just beat the #1 team in the country," "Good game Tigers...good luck with the rest of your season"
