PBS & Ken Burns: Death and the Civil War: American Experience

Haven't ever posted here before, but was wondering if anyone was watching this?

It's a Ken Burns documentary airing on PBS tonight based on the book The Republic of Suffering written by the President of Harvard. It looks at how the Civil War changed how we view death in America and lead to creation of systems such notification of next of kin, the national cemetary system, ect.

The last Ken Burns documentary I watched was the The War and it is one of my favorite historical docmentaries

Recording it so I can watch it when there's no baseball to interrupt.

Love just about everything Burns has done. What I haven't loved was just not an "era of interest" to me FWIW.

Same here. I could only stand about 5 minuets of the National Park documentary.

So far this one is pretty good. Specifically, he does great work on imagery with rarely seen photos

It's Ric Burns, no Ken. Ken is his brother.
