Upgrade at QB...no doubt!
Linebackers about equal!
Cornerbacks good and getting better....I'm not concerned.
Reid is a stud!
But I think we really, really miss Brandon Taylor...Safety is our weakness.

Linebackers are making PLAYS this year. That never happened last year.

So far, I agree. I think the wr drops will go down. Guys were just trying to do too much. Safety play is a concern.

Yup, he really tied he room together.

I also lament losing Ron Brooks. That guy was awesome and was cornerback number what? 3? 4? Had it not been for depth I think he would have been a first or second round guy.

I think as the season goes on, there will be no doubt we've upgraded or stayed about the same as last year at every position. With possible exceptions at WR and S.

But the days of having to win despite poor QB and average LB play seem over. We match up well with anyone at every position on the field now. We don't give away talent anywhere.

yeah 2007 Arkansas and 2007 Kentucky were much better than 2012 LSU.

2012 beats 2011 and 2007. Not sure about 2003 yet..need to see how we fare against some SEC opponents first..and yes, I can already tell we can move the ball against both 2011 and 2007.

The 2007 team is the worst team on that list.

2006 might be better then all of them

QB
2012 Mettenberger is as good if not better than 2007 Flynn. 2003 Mauck is not on their level IMO. 2011 Jefferson/Lee are last on that list.

LB is much improved from last year. Minter with a year of experience. And if the NFL Draft showed us anything it was how slow we were at LB last year.

Cornerbacks may be better as a whole then last year, potentially. Simon, Mills, and Collins have shown they are good cover guys. We lose the big play ability we had with TM7 last year tho.

Losing Brandon Taylor and Ron Brooks hurt. Both were not huge flashy players. But were consistent and made plays.

I think 2012 is better than 2011. 2012 is better than 2007.

If 2003 LSU played 2012 LSU 10 times who would win how many times? Offensively we are more explosive I believe. Both Defenses are wicked.

Reid and loston will improve. I think they're just trying to impose themselves on the weaker teams so they took more risks.. when we play an sec team, Reid will be a little more conservative, unless theres just a glaring opportunity..

In reid we trust...

Actually Ron Brooks was a very flashy, fast player. If he was starting last year no doubt he goes 1st or 2nd round. Go watch his higlight video and the highlights from last year. This was from a #3-4 corner on the depth chart.

We discussed this in length as well. My comment was his play was stellar and when he got to the next level, my question was, How the hell did this guy not start? Too much talent and depth I guess.

2012 couldn't beat 2007 or 2003. Both defenses were more nasty. Dorsey Jackson come on man! 2007 scored at will. No one stopped them. This team would not. Dorsey's injury killed that defense by the arkygame.
