I read that too, big risk for Mora. Rettig has said repeatedly he's a tiger because of the loyalty LSU showed to him. I know kids lie, but for some reason I believe this one. Mainly because of the circumstances.

How do you approach Rettig at this point?

IDK how often this happens but it seems like it would really hurt future recruiting

Mora has a lot to learn about relationships and recruiting. This isn't the NFL where cutting guys is just part of the business with no major repercussions. He is breaking a 17-year-old's heart.
The good news for Printz is that if Mizzou is really interested he might have the opportunity to play in a better offense at a more stable program in a better conference closer to home.

Although I don't agree with Coach Mora pulling this kind of crap, a guy commented on the article and said this is the exact opposite of a kid decommitting from a program...this has some truth to it.

ETA: I hope this QB Printz signs with a PAC-12 team somewhere and rams it down UCLA's throat for the next four years. I read the article, and what makes it reflect so badly on Mora is that he refused to contact Printz to tell him any of this. No coach returned his phone calls for over a week until the family finally had some offensive line coach pick up the phone, who confirmed UCLA was no longer interested.
Apparently Mora did this to another RB. He committed in February, but they refused to contact him since then. Mora is acting like a 16 year old girl giving suitors the cold shoulder instead of manning up and telling recruits he's no longer interested.

Not cool. its bad whem the teenagers break their commit but they are teenagers. Expect adults to behave better and respect legitimate offer as done deal unless commit doesn't act in good faith.
Don't think this will be beneficial for UCLA program especially if Rettig doesn't bite their hook. If he did he would have to be looking over his shoulder for the next guy in the barrel who Mora thouht might be little better than him. Not a good way to run a program.

Willie Ferrell was an interesting one. He ended up at FAMU. At least Valcin went to Baylor and the Bastrop kid went to either State or Arky. If it's the one that went to Arky, he's still playing, if it's the one that went to State, he was Medical Hardshipped.

Do you think that he is showing them some interest? Hard to believe they would blow off the other kid if they felt like they had no chance. Surely they would guage Rettig's iterest before making a move like that.
