He means that in week one of the 2012 NFL season, the franchises that have won the last 7 Super Bowls all lost.

I added the "this season" part very shortly after realizing all of the confusion that might ensue. Apparently I did not avoid it

Not sure if serious?

I'm pretty sure all franchise nicknames are plural, thus all of them having an "s" in the nicknam
