Devon Walker Update per NOLA.com with link

NOLA.com reports that Tulane team physician Dr. Greg Stewart gave an interview and cleared up a lot of rumors. At no time did a tracheotomy take place. CPR was done as a precaution. When Devon left the field and later he had feeling in his arms and legs. He suffered a cervical fracture which is a broken neck. The next 24 to 48 hours will determine his recovery as well as possible issues with paralysis following surgery. Devon was able to talk in the ambulance and there was no collapsed lung at any time. I would suggest we all wait for Tulane to make an official statement as to stay away from the various media whores (ESPN, FOX) since they have all been dead wrong with their reports. God Bless this kid and his family. Prayer is powerful and God listens.

quote:Great to hear! Obviously, his football career is over but sounds like he can get the rest of his life back to normal eventually after surgery.

CPR done as a precaution? I thought CPR was only done if no pulse is detected?

Penn St. CB Adam Telafero was able to do it let's hope Devon can.
