How did MSU/Ole Miss miss on Jalen Collins?

I seem to remember neither offered him until about a month before NSD. How the hell do you miss evaluations like that at a major HS program like Olive Branch?

They tried to get him late, and was worried they would.

I know that but he stuck with LSU because we evaluated him long before the Miss schools did. He played at a major HS program in their own backyard and they couldn't offer him until very late in the game?
Just goes to show you how much better our talent evaluation is. We were all over him before the Miss schools even thought about offering.
