If Gulati wanted to hire him as technical director, he could have. Klinsmann looked exposed tactically last night, and he doesn't have safety blanket Jogi Löw to protect him this time.

Well said. This means Klinsmann needs to get someone who is tactically better than Vasquez. He will finish this WC cycle and then we can move him to technical director and hire a proper manager.

That's exactly what I've been saying. He needs to be in a different position with the USMNT. If we want to try instill an attacking style that looks pretty sometimes and ugly the rest of the time, hire Caleb Porter.

If you're interested in winning games, find someone who can do that

Klinsmann a technical director or a senior team manager?

he's a manager who hopes to subterfuge his way in to a technical director gig with the 'I told you so' extortion/blackmail strategy.

waaaaaay too early to tell. I personally think JK is trying to do what he did in Germany.

Expose the lack of technical development and recognition of those with latent technical capacity at a young age.

Blow the system up.

Modernize. Start anew.

Awesome.

We can use 2013 and 2014 to practice our technical skill while the hex and World Cup are going on.

Because if we don't win Tuesday, we're going to find ourselves in a bind.

If "blowing the system up" means not qualifying for the WC, then we need to start anew without him.

I'm going to bump this old thread because it made a few good points last October.

Results since then:

1-0 humdrum win over Jamaica

2-1 pulled that one out of our arse win over a shittacular Antigua and Barbuda team.

3-1 win over Guatemala where we gave up an early lead.

2-2 draw against Russia in a friendly. Oh the tying goal was scored by a player who wouldn't have been able to come on during a competitive match because he was the 5th substitute?

0-0 draw against a horrible Canada side that didn't even attempt to attack.

2-1 loss to Honduras with three ridiculously too early subs.

Bob Bradley >> Jürgen Klinsmann

I see my .gif is still useful, in light of yesterday's performance.
