My weekend backpacking/climbing trip (pics)

Started at the Park Meadow trailhead and hiked in 7.1 miles to camp. .6 of those miles were off trail so we were away from anyone hiking in the area. Our camp was at 7100 feet and we had a tarn for drinking water that was 100% clear. I think this has to be the best camp spot I've ever been to in Oregon. Every which way we looked there were views. We had Broken Top, Three Sisters, Black Butte, Mt. Jefferson, and Mt. Hood in every direction. Absolutely amazing time we had.
I took my 15 year old nephew along, who had never backpacked or climbed, and he had a blast. Luckily enough the leadership of my group allowed him to go along when we climbed Broken Top. He did great.
Here we go.
Broken Top from Park Meadow
I had the best view out of everyone in camp. I had mountain views every which way.
L-R, Middle Sister, North Sister, Mt. Jefferson, and Mt. Hood.
Tam Mcarthur rim and Golden lake.
Broken Top
South Sister
On our way to summit Broken Top.
Green Lakes and the lava fields off of South Sister.
L-R, Mt. Washington, Three Fingered Jack, and Mt. Jefferson.
Working our way up the ridge.
Summit bitches!!!!
L-R, South Sister, Middle Sister, North Sister.
L-R, Middle Sister, North Sister, Mt. Washington, Three Fingered Jack, and Mt. Jefferson.
Mt. Bachelor.
We never protect the catwalk or the summit area but with my nephew (who can be clumsy) and a member with his kid on his back we did. Better safe than sorry.
