Underwhelming

Yes, our Tigers were underwhelming but it was not totally unexpected.
It was like going to a movie that is mega-hyped and then it being good but not great. There was probably no way for Mett to have fulfilled expectations. Plus, the protection was shoddy.
The players weren't satisfied, most of the media noted that it was decent, not spectacular and improvement is needed. I listened to Doug Moreau's evaluation on the way home last night and it was unflattering as well.
None of that is bashing. It's just a realistic evaluation of the game. This was UNT of the Sunbelt after all.
PS. Never expect LSU to put up video game numbers in these rent a win games.

The first quarter was what I expected a #3 team to look like vs a Sun Belt opponent. After that, they clearly relaxed a little bit. I'd like to have seen them keep their boot on the neck until halftime, but under the circumstances, I guess it's understandable. Given the opposition, we won't know much about this team until October at the earliest. Just enjoy the festivities for now and leave the serious football until later in the season.
