so I just got a lake house on toledo bend and closed this thursday. Im located on the texas side about 2 minutes away from the pendelton bridge(around alpine marina.) Anybody know of any good fishing spots around this area for crappie or bass?

ive thrown a couple casts off of my dock and landed a few bass. Nothing worth keeping though. Talked to my neighbor across the canal and she said it is a prime time area for crappie between mid march and mid april. Can't wait for springtime so i can enter some tournaments like mcdonald's big splash and bassmaster classic

Are you in Palo Gaucho Bayou? If so, the entire back of that bayou is filled with The White perch in spring. Just fish jigs in the smaller pockets or birddog. There will be others catching.
The mouth of that bayou has a long shallow ridge running roughly NW to SE with shallow water surrounded by deep. Great staging area in late January and all of February. Tie on a 3/4 ounce spinner and fish deep or just chunk and wind a large trap. C-rig any time.

Whoa brother, McDonalds Splash will take your money but the Classic will have to do without you I'm afraid.
Congrats on the purchase.

I know many many spots in that area.
Bass mostly but you can fish the Chicken Coop during the day for White Perch or at night under the bridges in early spring.
We night fished about a month ago and caught over 100 Bass, many in that area.
