Irsay says Colts contemplating serious trade
quote:

Colts owner Jim Irsay says his team is seriously contemplating a trade -- a deal that could possibly include a high draft pick.

On Thursday, Irsay wrote on Twitter that "serious" trade winds are blowing, though he also noted that often times these deals fall through.

Later, he tweeted that new Colts general manager Ryan Grigson isn't afraid to roll the dice and that the owner was willing to open his checkbook.

Those two posts followed an earlier one that read simply: "TRADE WINDS BLOWING."

Irsay has not provided any indication of who the Colts might be trying to get, though their two biggest areas of need are cornerback and offensive line.

Grison and coach Chuck Pagano have repeatedly said they will do anything they can to improve the team.

Irsay tweets are such a credible source. Check what Canseco has to say about it. Yahoo said it was likely for a CB not MJD

I don't know the AFC divisions well enough, but aren't JAX and IND in the same division?

Well, it doesn't make sense to me that the Jags would want to help the Colts get so much better so quickly, especially since their division is down. Right now is their best chance to hang around, there's no way I help the Colts if I'm Jax...however, the Colts could make an offer the Jags can't refuse.

Ah, but it does give you a chance to focus of Gabbert (its what they want to do, but I digress), move the team forward, the RB you have behind MJD is good, and you may get a bomb couple draft picks next year when you are high up anyway because your team sucks.

I'd consider trading hom for a 1st rd pick and something. They need to get more weapons, and with the league being a passing league...not having but 1 top WR isn't going to win you much.

Despite some reports indicating that it’s not Steelers receiver Mike Wallace, we continue to believe that he best fits the profile that Irsay has painted.  Wallace would yield a high draft pick, he wants a new contract, and he has knowledge of offensive coordinator Bruce Arians’ system.  And the Steelers can’t justify giving another big-money deal to a second receiver, especially at a time when the offense supposedly is renewing its vows with the running game.  Also, with Colts starting receiver Austin Collie sidelined indefinitely by his latest concussion, the Colts may be realizing that it’s time for a permanent replacement.

that would be a great move by the colts...they need to get a receiver that can stretch the field for Luck

Isn't Khan gonna move Jax to LA and team up with Magic? He would need MJD

Wallace would be a good fit for Colts

But Irsay is a drunk
