I know. I'm just saying the term "beta" is gynocentric. When using "beta" to describe someone, you are implying that he has low status and low sexual value. But if every one in game of thrones/life was alpha, nothing would get done because everyone wants to lead. How many alphas are willing to be blacksmiths, builders, pig farmers, road workers, garbage collectors, etc?
In reality we are all men. Alpha, beta, tall, short, white, black, rich, poor

Eight possible surprise deaths in Season 5 of Game of Thrones
Loras Tyrell
In A Feast for Crows, Cersei sends Loras to Dragonstone to dislodge Stannis’s remaining forces from the island. He’s said to be horribly wounded in the ensuing siege, victim of both crossbow quarrels and boiling oil, although we never actually see him in this state. Whatever is left of Loras won’t be quite so pretty anymore, but he is still technically alive when we last hear about him.
With the Kettleblacks apparently cut from the show, Cersei and Margaery need more direct fuel for their feud. If Loras is outright killed in action following Cersei’s command, it would deepen the gulf between the queen regent and the queen. Loras hasn’t had much to do since Renly was stabbed in the heart by shadow Stannis. The last we saw of him, he was nodding off during Tyrion’s trial. We also know he’s getting into a physical confrontation with zealots in King’s Landing. His fading arc could wrap up this season.
Myrcella Baratheon
It seems more and more likely that Oberyn Martell’s paramour, Ellaria Sand, will play the role of uncast Arianne Martell on the show. In A Feast for Crows, Arianne attempts to crown Myrcella queen in order to start a war between the Martells and the Lannisters. In the books, the “Queenmaker” plot fails and Myrcella is wounded in the ensuing brawl. Afterward, Myrcella plays no pivotal role in the story. Dorne seems destined for war with King’s Landing in both versions of the story. If David and Dan want to get them to that point sooner, they could kill Myrcella to force the war.
Jaime Lannister
Jaime’s role in Season 5 is unclear. In the books, Jaime plays peacemaker, visiting the last holdouts from the War of the Five Kingsto give them terms of surrender. In the show, we know he will visit Dorne instead, with the knighted Ser Bronn in tow. Will he play the role of Kingsguard member Arys Oakheart, who is seduced by Arianne into helping her crown Myrcella in the books? It seems unlikely that he would turn against Cersei and his son. But it’s possible that he could die saving Myrcella from Ellaria and her Sand Snakes.
In the books, Jaime’s role moving forward into The Winds of Winter is unclear. The last we see of him, Brienne seems to be leading him into a trap set by Lady Stoneheart and the Brotherhood Without Banners. But with Lady Stoneheart most likely cut from the show, David and Dan may have no use for the Kingslayer in Season 6.
One fan theory claims that Jaime is half-Targaryen: that Tywin is not his real father because the Mad King raped Jaime’s mother. If so, that makes him eligible as one of the prophesied “three heads of the dragon.” Jaime’s death would be very unhappy for proponents of that theory.
Bronn
Through four seasons, Bronn has been the ultimate survivor. He is one of the better Game players — he acts only when it is to his distinct advantage and only then. He says what’s on his mind so people trust what he says. He makes no qualms that he will serve whomever can reward him best. I don’t see him taking any unnecessary risks in Dorne.
In the books, his story is essentially over once he abandons Tyrion and marries Lollys Stokeworth, although he is amusing as an off-page irritant to Cersei Lannister. David and Dan have decided to send him on a mission with Jaime instead. Bronn is now a knight in service to the queen, and things are expected of him that a simple mercenary could walk away from. His ambition could prove his undoing.
Brienne of Tarth
Brienne had her moment of glory last season in her vicious duel with the Hound. She emerged victorious in battle, but lost Arya. Without Lady Stoneheart to punish her for her failure, Brienne seems like an unlikely candidate for death in Season 5. However, she also doesn’t seem likely to reconnect with Jaime this season, since he is traveling south. Thus, what better use can the show have for her at this point than a glorious death?
Since she ended up near the Vale, it seems logical to think that she will finally meet Sansa, under the care of Peter Baelish. The new Lord Protector and his protege have no grudge with Brienne, but they may press her into service. The Season 5 trailer has shown the Vale marshaling armies. If Brienne ends up in a major battle, all bets are off. The same is equally true for her much-loved sidekick Podrick Payne, although he may already be dead in the books anyway.
Mance Rayder
The Mance Rayder of the show is a far cry from the easy-going musician of the books, who leads less by force of will than sheer charisma. The writers have given no indication that they care much about his backstory or his musical talents, so I doubt we’ll see him masquerading as a singer in Bolton-controlled Winterfell. Without that storyline, he seems to have no further use in the show, especially given how much more screentime has been given to Tormund Giantsbane. Stannis will likely burn him alive for betraying his vows to the Night’s Watch, instead of Melisandre saving him with her illusion magic.
Hizdahr zo Loraq
His attempted coup appears to be much more direct in the show than in the book, with David and Dan opting for open battle at the Pit of Daznak instead of Hizdahr’s failed poisoning plot. In A Dance with Dragons, Ser Barristan spares Hizdahr’s life until he has all the evidence he needs to prove the queen’s new husband guilty. However, it seems like there will be no doubt of Hizdahr’s guilt on the show.
It’s also possible that Hizdahr will attempt to dance with the dragons in place of Quentyn Martell. Either way, I think we’ll see him dragon-roasted in Season 5.
Jorah Mormont
We’ve seen from photos and the trailer that Jorah will end up as a gladiator in Daznak’s Pit, fighting for the entertainment of the crowd after Dany’s wedding to Hizdahr. I can’t think of a worse day for Ser Friendzone — unless, of course, he dies in the ensuing battle. We don’t know Jorah’s role in the books moving forward, and it’s possible that it may not be critical. Dying for Dany would let Jorah redeem himself after betraying her to Robert Baratheon–a fitting end for the exiled knight.

In that case, GRRM will likely kill him off first thing in the next book.

Yeah, I think they'll move ahead this season and kill Myrcella.
I can see them also killing Brienne, Hizdahr, and Mance this season. The others I think will make it through. No way Jaime is killed this season.

I'm really curious how it's going to go with them this year. We really don't know that much more than them (aside from of course the background, characters, universe, the fact that Dany isn't in Westeros, Tyrion is a dwarf, etc), and wonder if they'll still be as big of cry babies about it.

At this point they have to figure jon isnt really dead. Too much invested to kill him off, even grrm isnt dumb enough to screw a plot like that.

So how does Jon Snow's parentage get handled and how do they handle the events at the end of A Dance With Dragons?

The only answer I have to that is R+L=J.
Anyone else think Pedro is Lena's baby daddy?

If anyone turns up pregnant he's the poppa.

So does this mean its certain lady stone heart and her story line "won't" be in the next season or do you think they are just waiting for a crazy episode 1 surprise for hodors?
