The show will only pass the books if D&D or HBO is ready to end it. As large as the books are they could make the show go as long as they want to give GRRM time.

And the worry that the kids will get too old? Well they are damn near grown now. And that will kinda help cause I see sex in Sansas future and Arya becoming an assassin needs to be a little older girl too. Bran is crippled so that doesn't matter. And Rickon's story can go anywhere

The show will pass the books. I have no confidence in Ser Suspenders

Yeah, I thought they'd try 8 seasons and split WoW and ADOS into 3 seasons instead of two. No way in hell is he going to finish in time.

Now the question is, as a book reader, do I go ahead and watch the end or wait to read it?

I think the show will become the canon and only ending. Ser Suspenders is making too much money for not much extra work right now. He can just give the producers his general outline of the story ending, and they will film it, and he will profit.

That beats having to finish two huge books. He will die before he gets done.

I'd be pissed but there is no way you'd be able to avoid spoilers waiting years for the book to come out. Hopefully GRRM would at least make a slightly alternate ending.

I just can't see the man working on such a big project for 20 years and then just letting the show tell the ending in one season.

I think he's going to have to have TWOW finished before the 2015 season starts and hopefully that's enough staling to finish ADOS. I'm hoping he is kind of writing them side by side(with more focus on TWOW) and it shouldn't be terribly long in between the 2. But with him you never know.

Assuming the show (movie) ends the same as the books. No guarantees they will be identical - at least, not all arcs.

He says his process is like this: writes as much as his brain allows him each day. Chapters pile up and once he finds a stoping point that's it for the book. Some chapters that were originally suppose to be in one book might end up in another. The reason AFfC and ADwD ended up like they did was because he was "halfway through" AFfC and scraped the whole thing because he didn't like where it was going. I don't think he'll have that problem anymore and people need to relax.

I brought up the Accursed Kings series the other day and I said that apparently George knows French. Well I was wrong. He first started reading that series when I was first issued in English back in the 60s & 70s. Well out of the seven books, they only did the first six in English. Now that they have started a reissue of the series in English, they will finally get all seven books able to be read in English. So people that are whining about having to wait two years and eight months (that's how long it's been since ADwD has been on the shelves) should really think about how long he's had to wait for one of his favorite series.

We're going to be hunted down like dogs by the Hodors. They're going to use Hugo's List and go out of their way to spoil shite.

If the Fat Man dies before completing the series, will TD, Westeros.org forums, and the rest of the internet crash that day?!?

LINK

Apparently GRRM has been working on this story for another anthology that will coincide with TP&TQ.

“The Rogue Prince, or, the King’s Brother,” will tell the story of the years leading up to the calamitious events of “The Princess and the Queen” during the reign of King Viserys I Targaryen, with particular attention to the role played by the king’s brother, Prince Daemon, a rogue if there ever was one"

I still haven't read TP&TQ and it's been on my Kindle for months. One of these days I'll get around to reading it.

Bear in mind that this is just an abridged version of stuff he wrote last year between working on TWoW and other things. The abridgement, I suspect, probably took him all of a few hours.

So I don't think this held up any tWoW progress

Not unless he's in the kitchen making all 70 courses from Joffrey's wedding and testing them out for yet another ASOIAF cookbook.

Hugo is actually an agent for the Hodors and is working to ensure that the Hodors know who to spoil when the time comes.

Hes been plotting for years and is waiting patiently. Its not a coincidence that Varys is his avatar pic
