Sadly I'm worried about mixing up penchant and pension when there are people on this site that can barely form coherent sentences.

that would be the undead Gregor Clegane.

The Hound is still alive.

I meant Gregor...what's him name brought him back in the dungeons. How is the Hound alive? Again, I need to re-read because I thought it was clear that he was dead by the river.

We have a winner. Note that Robert Strong does not remove his helm at all. I don't believe he speaks either. Maybe the indication that he is rather headless at the moment (or horribly disfigured)?

The Hound is the Gravedigger.

He was spotted by Brienne on Quiet Isle working as a grave digger.

quote:

The Elder Brother described Sandor thusly... “ "...this was a bitter tormented soul, a sinner who mocked both gods and men. He served but found no pride in service. He fought but took no joy in victory. He drank, to drown his pain in a sea of wine. He did not love, nor was he loved himself. It was hate that drove him. Though he committed many sins he never sought forgiveness. Where other men dream of love, or wealth or glory, this man Sandor Clegane dreamed of slaying his own brother, a sin so terrible it makes me shudder just to speak of it. Yet it was the bread that nourished him, the fuel that kept his fires burning. Ignoble as it was, the hope of seeing his brother's blood upon his blade was all this sad and angry creature lived for...and even that was taken from him when Prince Oberyn of Dorne stabbed Ser Gregor with a poisoned spear". [15]

The Hound is dead but Sandor Clegane is alive.

Arya

I cannot fricking wait until she finishes her training and comes back. She is going to have Nymeria and a big arse pack of wolves too. She is going to wreck shite, unless GRRM offs her, which is entirely possible.

I missed it my first time too. Reread the Quiet Isles chapter of AFFC. Brienne notes that the Gravedigger is bigger than her. Then listen to the Septon's words. He words it making certain to note that it's The Hound that dies, not Sandor. Factor in the story he tells about himself where his old self dies, and it makes perfect sense. It is genius writing, really.

Yes and yes. You never know what is next, and you can never assume to know what has actually occurred until it is clearly spelled out.

I don't see him offing her. Not at least until she sees someone like Jon or Gendry again (I'm convinced she actually ends up with Gendry in a romantic manner at some point).

I honestly don't know if she necessarily finishes her training. I think she makes it through far enough to develop all the necessary skills but ends up returning to be Arya of Winterfell. And yes, she's going to wreck some shite.

Unfortunately, there are always a lot of ties made between her and her resemblance/demeanor that is like Lyanna. And we saw how that ended up.

I would LOVE to read a Dunk and Egg-esque account of what really went down with Rhaegar and Lyanna when it's all said and done. That would be a supplement that I would love to read.

Me too. I love getting backstory about Rhaegar. He sounded like a great guy

Yea after the series is done I would love for something like this (maybe from Howland Reed's POV) to come out.

Am I the only one who is excited to see Sansa revealed as the heir to Winterfell at ber wedding? If that is indeed the way it plays out.

I was kidding about him offing her. I agree about her and Gendry, but there is quite an age difference there for the show. Would be interesting to see how they would play that out on TV. If that were the case, I would think TV Arya would be older, or TV Gendry would have been younger.

Yeah, she may not finish because she probably won't be willing to completely give up Arya. Remember, Needle is still under the front steps.

I dont know where else to put this or if anyone has mentioned but I was on Wiki and looking at Rhaegar and it dawned on me.

ASSUMING Jon is in fact there child of course,

Rhaegar getting Lyanna pregnant ends up killing her = Nissa Nissa

Rhaegar himself dies when Jon is born. Since Jon is his seed = rebirth

the war = salt and smoke

to wake dragons of stone = something Jon will do

This would also make Jon Lightbringer.
great Mother of God

That would be mind blowing

Hell, I'm hoping Howland Reed makes a damn appearance in the next book or so that way we can at least get the truth on Jon's lineage.

Speaking of, there's something I'm curious about. When we read about the Tower of Joy early in GoT we get this comment:

quote:

"They had found him (Ned) still holding her (Lyanna's) body, silent with grief." — pg. 44

The general thought is that only Ned and Howland Reed knows what went down. Ned was holding Lyanna. For there to be a "they" it would need to be more than Howland Reed. Is it possible where is someone else alive that knows what really happened? Some have suggested it's Wyalla (who we find out later was Jon's wet nurse).

I'm kind of thinking we will find out about that through Bran.

If Rhaegar and Lyanna got married (which is something I can see Rhaegar insisting on) Lyanna would've probably insisted on it being in front of a heart tree. If thats the case Bran could link into that and put two and two together.

Or maybe hear Ned praying about the situation in front of the heart tree in the Winterfell God's Wood.

All I know is some earth shattering news has to come from Bran's new found power.

And I've always just assumed it was Wylla. I've never really thought about it any further though.

I can buy that. But how the hell does that information get relayed to Jon or anyone else of importance when it comes to that story (Dany, Aegon, etc)?

Varys. He has the letter that Ned tried sending to Jon.

Sorry to change the subject, but do any of the theories that y'all read ever mention Patchface? I want to beat the shite out of that annoying fool, but there is something more than meets the eye with him. He is sinister.
