1. Vote of seniors and juniors (since seniors won't be around for next season)

2. WEEKLY drug screenings until he leaves LSU

3. Focus his community involvement on illegal substances and showing kids how he almost pissed it away and is making most of his last chance.

All depends on what terms he was dismissed for. No one really knows right?

AND the slightest, SLIGHTEST slip up and he's gone without a discussion

Then just prepare for next year as if he's going to screw up and be pleasantly surprised if he doesnt

Exactly. It's all speculation that it was drugs.

Him willing to sit out a year is pretty good to me. I'd allow it.

I don't. Time for both sides to move on. It sucks, but that's life.

getting booted again would be worse than the original booting

You do not set a standard of do this, this, this and this.

Leaders do not complete tasks and their role is always evolving as needed. You don't let him know what he has to do, but if he can, you let hime know he has an opportunity.

this...odds are he will....hope I'm wrong. Just hard to believe he will suddenly see the light, when he had everything in front of him for his taking...and still couldn't stay clean.

I personally think he is making a mistake.....go play at mcnese.....get drafted in second round.....

I agree with this...and I would be surprised if Miles allows it.

Right. Imagine us having to go through this all over again next year. Only it's the night before the season starts. Or the week of the Bama game. He is no longer on the LSU football team. That decision was made. He can't be allowed to negotiate and beg his way back on the team. Terrible precedent.

With that being said, if the kid stays clean and punishes himself a yr from football then that's enough IMO

Absolute zero tolerance. Community programs as well as programs to help him. High GPA.

I would use the Fulmer Formula: He must demonstate a steady, consistent pulse, regular breathing and be reasonably ambulatory.
If he passes these tests, he's good.

1. Great academic standing at LSU.
2. Daily Drug test... results published daily, a la the Freddie Kitchen weigh in.
3. Proof that he did at least 10 hours of community service each week until back with the team, so that he doesn't fall back idle.

ETA:

4. No Twitter

good points.

if Derrick Odom or Tim Pope promised to never act up again, i'd let them back on the team provided he sat out a year too.

4. weekly drug counseling so that he doesn't end up back on dem corners.
