1.
Can you recommend anyone in the New Orleans, North Shore, or Baton Rouge area who paints/dips guns and has a legitimate website? My new CC pistol is OD green with a chrome slide and I want the magazine extensions and accessories painted to match. If you know any good business online that will be great too; I'm planning to ship her off to be painted if I cannot find a good local source.

2.
Was planning on getting my reels maintenanced/cleaned at Superior Bait and Tackle but I'm moving to NOLA next week and was hoping someone here may have a good recommendation for a business to clean all my reels.

3.
Went with Daryl of Reel Screamers Charters out of Grand Isle on July 3rd and had a blast. Brought my parents, sister, girlfriend, and good friend so it was a pretty relaxed trip.

1 huge shark (accident)
21 mangrove snapper with a few over 12 pounds (freelined with live bait)
4 cobia
Limit (12) of red snapper

I finally invested in a vacuum sealer. Here's the pool table with my share of the catch.

4.
Dream Charters
If you could plan one chartered fishing trip for each season of next year where would you fish, which species, which charter captain?

I want to give out some charter trips to some relatives for Christmas (obviously I'll go on all of them),

Winter- ?
Spring- ?
Summer- Snapper from Grand Isle
Fall- Tuna from Venice

The above is what I have so far. I'd lake to have a red/specs charter lined up; what's the best time of year/captain/area?

What about a charter on Toledo Bend?

Get creative.

Thanks. Here's some pics for your time.

Interesting thread.

Great trip with Darryl

How did you vacuum all of your filets? Did you freeze them first do the juices wouldn't mess with the seal?

Answer to #1.

Located in Kenner, LA, the guy does great work. He did a Cerakote job on my Beretta 90 two and I love it. He's also a standup guy. frick Red Jacket - this guy is much better than those frickers.

bapple - dead link

Took me forever just to go through them but some are pretty awesome.

Not sure if Chag's will clean your reels, but if they won't, they'll know who to call.

There's a guy in the NOLA area who does float plane charters. I can try to find his name if no one comes up with it. That'd be unique

What about a blast n cast or a bowfishing overnighter?

Thanks. You're okay for a Big Green Egg owner.

Actually.... I saw you post his name a long time ago on here and because I didn't know any charter captains personally I just called him up out of the blue and scheduled a trip. So thanks to you, I had a great time.

Bought a Cabela's portable vaccum sealer, pat fish dry with paper towel, lay a thin strip of paper towel between the fish and the seal to catch any juices that run towards the seal. It took all day to seal them babies but it worked great and they are still looking great in my freezer. I didn't freeze them first.

Question 1:

Do it yourself. It is easy and if you decide on another accessory, you will have the paint instead of having to bring/ship to a shop.

I have done it on a Saiga 12, but I don't remember what website I ordered from, but here is Brownells

Yea. This is the second time I've done a post like this. Asking a lot of questions in one thread won't get as many responses as a bunch of little threads but I hate starting threads with a passion so I go all out when I do. When you're on a computer check out my last mega-pic post (in the diving thread) for some awesome youtube videos. LINK

Any specific charters? I could be convinced to charter a red-specific trip and a spec-specific trip with different captains. I like catching reds and have never caught more than 3 spec's in the same day. That needs to change.

Thanks. I'd rather send it to someone from around here because my second option is a guy from Alaska. You had him dip any of yours?

Just a creepy pic I found on reddit. I was raised to shoot every cat I see and while I don't kill cats anymore I still enjoy laughing at their demise. I'm not proud of it.

Not yet, but I have a 10/22 that is going to get dipped soon and I've seen some of his work.
