Honda Outboard Motor Trim Issues

have a honda 150 4 stoke that just started squeaking (for lack of a better word) when i trim up and down. could it be a grease issue on the piston? an ideas here?

Not to hijack but i always wonder why i see so few Hondas in south la. Im sure theyre good motors.

280 hrs, no issues (knock on wood), change oil and once changed impeller out of precaution. so damn quiet you can forget the thing running.

Did you try greasing it to see if it helped? They usually have like 2-4 grease fitting that affects the tilt.

If the grease doesn't help it could be a tilt motor problem also. I had a 150hp Yamaha and had my tilt motor seal go out 3-4 times. Water got in the tilt motor and the tilt would have trouble going up and down.

Grease all fitting on the motor, just not the trim. What happens sometimes is that slack builds up over time and the motor lower unit will rub. Just look to see were it is rubbing. It will show metal to metal scraping.
