This is a very easy question considering that everyone was injured last year and therefore, if we stay healthy we will be much better this year. Nevertheless, let’s compare the teams in paper before the beginning of the seasons: I guess the question is injuries aside do we have a significantly better roster this year in comparison to last year the day before the beginning of the season? I actually think that if we did not have all the injuries last year we would have had a more balanced team than this year.

well if you look at the full roster i would say yes we had a more complete team last year fully healthy. this years team is hard to accurately judge because of the significant rookie pieces.

This years team will be better just because of Eric Gordon and anthony Davis being on the floor. (speaking as if Gordon didnt ever play last year) ... Last years team didn't have an allstar caliber player. This years team has two. Maybe three in rivers.

This comparison is between the rosters leaving the injuries aside. If you have any hope that Rivers may be an all start this year you may as well expect for the Hornets to be NBA champions!

We have more talent and less "depth" as it stands.

Without injuries, last years team was a lot better.

We'll have a similar win % this season.

I guess we're adding more fake hypotheticals to this situation

we'll have a similar win % as we actually did last year? or are you saying we will have the same % this year as we would have had last year with a completely healthy roster?

i hope you can comprehend that it made me a little dizzy thinking about it

Well, the question is completely unanswerable because of injuries. No offense, but it's kind of a meaningless. So we don't have Kaman, Landry or Ayon. But we do have the new Rybo, a once in a decade player (rookie or not) and a healthy Gordon. Plus an improved (I guarantee it) Aminu. What the hell did Ariza or Oak do after midseason anyway?

This team, if the injury bug doesn't hit with a vengeance, will post a better winning percentage than last year. That's the only measure we have to go by.

No, you read my post wrong.

I meant it as last years team without injuries is SIMILAR* to the team we will put on the court this season.

This years team will have a similar winning % as the team that was actually on the court last year.

I'll list each position and then put "BENCH", and you tell me if we upgraded, downgraded, or its a push.

Center: Downgrade
Power Forward: Upgrade
Small Forward: Push
Point Guard: Downgrade
Shooting Guard: Upgrade(Considering Gordan didn't play).
Bench: Downgrade(losing an offensive spark in Landry will hurt).

Who will be the starting 5? Greivis Vasquez, Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson, Jason Smith, Eric Gordan, Aminu?

If Aminu is in the line-up, we'll have 2 bench players from last years team starting. If hes not, we'll likely have 1 bench player, and Smith playing Center.

i know thats a possibility but that would not be a good outlook for the future. i mean if our team stays completely healthy and can only get to what was it a .31something win % which would make us around 26-56 or close to that im doing this in my head it could be wrong. would be devastating for this team and imo hurt our chances of getting decent FA's to want to come

Look man, I'm one of the biggest Hornets apologist there is..but we aren't building this team by signing big time FA's.

We have to build through the draft and with sign and trades. Winning too fast will hurt us in the long run..look what happened to Cleveland(won too fast), and with OKC(slowly picked up in the win column).
