A guy that may get some looks (not sure now with how well we're recruiting) is Quentin Thomas from Dunham. He's a 6'2" SG with a nice 46" vertical leap.
My younger brothers who attend Dunham told me about him when transferred to Dunham last year. He seems to be quite a player and nearly upset Dutchdown.
Not idea if LSU is looking at him, but he's guy you may want to watch.

I'm wondering if CJJ is going to go after Emmanuel Mudiay from Prime Prep. I'm sure we have no shot, but he could be good buds with Mickey

I don't think we'll be taking a PG unless Hickey is gone, but he seems to be a guy you take regardless.

What about Dwayne Benjamin from Northside in Laffayette? He is leading Mt. San Jacinto in scoring in his Freshman year there, looks like a good replacement for Coleman. He can shoot the 3 and has very nice hops in that 6'5-6'6" range. Wonder if LSU has any interest? They wanted him in football

He apparently committed to UTEP out of highschool for football, but never made to campus and took the JUCO route.

Yeah I know I wonder if he is someone we will look at in the 2014 class. We will lose our scoring wing in Coleman and he could be a solid replacement. Schollies might be too tight though with the size we have instate.

Sugar Bowl Prep Classic is tomorrow at the Alario Center starting at 1. I know Victor will be there. idk if there is other LSU prospects on the other teams

After watching Craig Victor play two games today here is my mini assessment:
The Good:
Nice shooting touch for a big man he hits the mid-range jumper pretty consistently, love his passing ability and vision, can score in the post if he gets it there, has solid man to man defense
The Bad:
Not the most athletic big, defensive instincts when it comes to blocking or going after shots can improve, doesn't rebound the ball that well, and def needs to add some strength. He was getting pushed around a little too easy.
All and all he is pretty solid and can improve a lot more..hope we get him!

heinnews: You have a preference for a college? I’m sure the LSU Tigers would love to see Derrick Taylor’s son on campus.
Taylor: LSU is one of the options. There are a couple of colleges that I’m going to look at. But I’m not sure yet. I haven’t decided anything.

So what's the current short list for 2014? This list was made by Bubba a long time ago and I wonder how different it would look currently from a national perspective.
