Is this really necessary with a music board?
Late night threads invariably become IM threads, and we have been specifically warned about having IM threads on this board.
Personally I hate Late Night threads. Yes I started the LNMT on the OT, but that was the only way to discuss music over there. LN threads drag everybody into one place, so instead of having separate discussion threads on the Beatles/jam bands/upcoming concerts/the latest rapper to get arrested etc, they are stuffed into one place.
I prefer separate threads -- I think it's healthier for the board, and the traffic will keep haters from their "The Music Board gets less traffic than Soccer, turn it into Fitness Talk" posts on the Help Board.

It's probably not necessary but I've been drinking and I decided to start it.
The Smithereens - Blood & Roses
and God Bless Drew Brees!!!!!
Clapton/Cale - Call Me The Breeze
eta: and I like the Beatles and (some) jam bands. don't know much about rappers getting arrested.

I like threads like this just to see what other people are listening to. Great way to find new music. I agree with Kafka though, I would rather this not turn into a conversation thread.
Cory Morrow-Nashville Blues
Dwight Yoakam-The Heart That You Own
TVZ-Dead Flowers
The Gaslight Anthem-Miles, Davis And The Cool
Cody Jinks-Hippies and Cowboys

Love that Gaslight song. They are one of those bands that I think I need to start listening to, but I haven't for whatever reason.

Their new album is pretty solid from the couple of songs I've heard so far. I'm really glad they moved back to a style more like the 59 Sound record.
I've also been on a big My Morning Jacket kick lately. Not really sure why.
No Woman No Cry-Bluegrass Version this might be one of the chillest, most relaxing songs I've come across recently. Whatever band covered this did an excellent job.
