I don't understand why they think a 3rd installment into this game is needed. This is probably the weakest console game they have in the series.

Considering the second game ended with a 'To Be Continued', then id say it's expected.

sorry after playing ff 13 I really didn't have much desire to get 13-2. It's still depressing that they are trying to save this title and not moving on to stuff people actually want.This post was edited on 7/6/12 at 1:15 am

I don't get what the frick they are thinking. This was their worst single player FF game and they are milking it for more than what it is worth. Maybe it was better received in Japan or something. They story was super weak, which is a strong point in most of the series. The battle system was just mashing buttons relentlessly. The fun of side quests was nothing near other games in the series. I still am in disbelief that they made the second one, let alone a third.

I'll agree with you on FF13 but 13-2 wasn't that bad. I enjoyed it, even if it did have too much Hope in it. Damn, I hate that kid.

Seriously though. It kinda falls in what Square was trying to do way back in 2005. Announce a full universe with several games in the series. So far, we've had three release (two come here) and another to be released soon.
That said, I'm sure how people can really say to much about them running out of ideas considering all the things they've done in acquiring new developers, IPs, and other measures to diversify their offerings.

Can't speak of the quality of 13-2, because I already played 13 and had no interest in having another adventure in that world.
If square wants to keep a consistent "universe", I suggest they pick one that sucks less.
