By no means am I trying to ignite a flame war, but hey it's part of the recruiting process and a fair question: Who do you believe is most likely to flip between now and signing day?

It happens every year. Of course it's hard to predict (Toshiro, Janzen) but even with EIGHT OOS recruits I'm having a hard time picking out a flopper. The things we hear guys like Rettig say just seem to reinforce this idea.

If I had to pick one, I'd say Anthony Jennings (I know, he's ok with the QB situation). What's your take?

I honestly don't see any of our current commits signing with another team. I'm more worried about the top Louisiana prospects signing with another team like Alabama. I know they aren't technically committed to us, but I still don't want to lose them. I also see the possibility of some transfers in the near future.

At this point in time, I see everyone as very solid. Usually if a recruit flips, there is a fair amount of smoke well beforehand.

It seems like Jennings is pretty solid. LSU has already had one decommit this summer with the WR Parker from Manvel, TX., so hopefully that will be the only one.

Didn't Jennings' dad play for UGA? It seems like if they end up offering, he might waver.

Anytime there's a bunch of OOS guys, someone's gonna flip. There's a surprise every year. I really want Jennings here.

More like in-state guys, such as the WR from Shreveport that switched to Texas at that 11th Hour last year.......

Torshiro Davis was a DE, but yeah, in-state guys can flip too. Like I said, at least one surprise every year.

UGA already has a QB commit in Brice Ramsey.

It was mentioned by some of the pay site mods at the time of his verbal that if Kennard Swanson didn't show up for July camp, his offer might not still be on the table. I'm just throwing that out there. If there was a guy to bail, he would be my guess.

I get the feeling that Jennings is more solid than Rettig (sp)

Not that I think hes going to flip, just that I think it would take more to flip Jennings than it would to Rettig (sp).

Hope I am wrong but Pocic will likely get pushed hard towards the end of the process. LSU needs him bad.

LSU's only potential concerns with possibly losing the services of Jennings/Rettig would be if Ramsey/Browne suffer serious injury.

I agree with this 100%. First, he is a DT for the most part and is being recruited by LSU as a FB. I think LSU will have a lot of DL signed ultimately so FB would be his destination at LSU. Seems fine with it for now, but...

As far as the QBs, I think there very solid. Mettenberger expected to leave after this season IF he proves legit. Liggins didn't get enrolled. That leaves Rivers and Randall, the latter I don't think has a prayer to play QB. So, if you are a QB looking for a great football team with a very questionable depth chart at QB, where would you look? And everyone must know, whereever you go with any kind of a football team, there is going to be competition.

Not going to happen:

quote:

"I don't really entertain the recruitment anymore because LSU is my team and that's where I want to go to school," he said. "Me and my coach know that's where I'm going, so the recruitment is over for me. I feel like some teams are still trying to come after me and change my commitment, or make me decommit. But I don't think that's going to happen."

I would have to say Lewis Neal
He already committed to Ohio St, now LSU, guys like that usually tend to sway back and forth

I feel you but I honestly think that we will keep everyone that's committed so far. If we happen to get RSJ, it may scare off a WR and they could potentially leave..but other than that, I feel pretty solid with what we have.

I can't wait for football season!!!

Ethan Pocic is rock solid LSU. I've been working with the USA U-19 National Team in Austin the last month and talk with him daily. He intends to enroll early. His upside is tremendous and I personally think he has a chance to start all four years. He is pushing a lot of other players hard to make visits to LSU.
