What's the agg for your Europa tie?

2-0 and both of them are home goals for them right?

I want to discuss the strike from Hazard yesterday. It doesn't get much better than that. I mean, I was excited when it went in, but it is still just as amazing to watch. What kind of ceiling does this guy have?

I posted yesterday when he's on he's as good as there is. There have been games this year he's been unplayable. If he can add a bit more consistency to his game I think he can become the best attacking mid in the world.

I remember a young kid that was full of pace that finished like that consistently. Never near the passing that Hazard has, but he was once considered among the best strikers in the world. Yeah, he plays for Chelsea and is a shell of his former self. I wonder if Hazard switched to striker if he could ever be among the worlds best?

I don't know, I'm sure he could play that role if he needed to and do well at it but I think he's too valuable picking the ball up further back and running at people.

I've also thought about pushing hazard up to striker. Our midfield is stacked even on the bench.

I gotta agree with randy on this one. I think he needs to be able to run at people more and create space for others in front. We tried him for one game, didn't seem to fit right up top. I realize it's only one game, but still.

Uh, no. We have 4 attacking mids that are PL quality and Oscar really isn't totally ready yet. We have almost zero depth there which is one of our main problems right now.

RDM's first and only mistake and it cost him his job.

I should have clarified. I think he's much more valuable as a midfielder. I was just wondering how good of a striker he could have been.

Not playing Chelsea's best striker was a mistake.

I assume you're talking about Sturridge and I'm pretty sure he got hurt in training in the lead up to that game. Still it is puzzling why Sturridge couldn't get a look even when he was healthy and Torres was struggling.

Wasn't talking about a specific match. It's no secret he didn't see the field under RDM. Very odd considering he played really well under AVB and finished the season with more goals than Drogba and Torres combined.

No I agree I don't know why he was so out of favor with Di Matteo, especially even after Drogba left and we didn't bring anyone in.

With how much Torres has played under 4 different managers since he was bought, combined with how shite his production has been, I can't help but think Roman has told every manager that he has no choice but to play Torres.

It's the only thing that makes sense. I am hoping against hope we cut our losses and get rid of him this summer.

'Twas a thing of beauty, I really do think he needs to stay at mid. When he plays well* he covers the entire field and can make similar strikes from all over the pitch.

*Obviously his inconsistency is disappointing.

Agreed! I kinda view it like the Saints with Mark Ingram (although Ingram has stepped up lately), Chelsea (Roman) has so much in Torres that it would sting the ego to cut ties. But it's so disappointing watching the lack of threat/creativity in the attacking 1/3 and 18. Sometimes watching this time is just painful. Our offense has been about as painful as LSU's offense.

And honestly what are y'alls thoughts on David Luiz? Personally, he scares me every time he goes in for a challenge and I really do not trust our defense in general. What do y'all think the chances of signing a defender or 2 this summer?

Agreed, he's too valuable taking the ball from further out and creating to move him up front.

I love Luiz, but am having a harder time finding where he fits. He isn't solid enough to be trusted as a CB and gets a little crazy at CDM. Wherever they want him, they need to figure it out and keep him there.

Agreed. I like his FK and PK style though, run like a mad-man and kick.
