Was it "necessary"? Probably not. Clumsy? Sure. Was it dirty? Not for me.

All I'm saying is I'm not going to criticize a guy for playing hard regardless of circumstance given the effort issues and troubles this team has had closing out games.

I thought it was a bit out of line. If someone would have hit hazard or mata or someone like that and we were losing 4-0 I would have thrown a baby. That said, he's a great player, just doesn't need to develop a reputation, refs watch replays too.

I don't think Luiz intended to harm him, but he is gaining a rep for silly hard fouls. Eventually, the refs are going to have enough. I love Luiz but he needs to stop the shoulder charges or move to the NFL.

I love his roughness. Yeah it will suck when he eventually gets a red, but I feel he brings a certain toughness to our D without Terry being there.

Saved by the last minute goal posted above. Ramires was poor again today IMO. He is fools gold at this point. In time he may be great, but I hate him in the center. Mikel was solid and Moses and Torres played well I thought even without scoring. Onto the round of 16.

Chelsea play better when Torres starts. He still gets so much respect from opposing sides that the flood gates can open up with Mata, Moses, Hazard hell even Lamaprd and Co. It's almost like teams key on him to make him look like sh*t, and if Torres is on, he gives the ball up almost every chance inside the box and one of the above few always finish. Say what you want about Torres, but I think he is valuable in many ways, just not 50 mil. Since they have already dropped the cash, there is no use arguing whether he's worth it or not (he's proven he's not), but Chelsea needs to manage these situations better and keep playing off of him rather than through him.

oh and Marin is sh*t IMO. He has one move from the outside going to his right foot. They need to sell him in the summer. there is no way he gets game time with the likes of Mata, Hazard, oscar, Moses, Kevin De Bruyne, ramires (i think winger is more of his position than holding mid, but who am i) and etc. I am sure we will probably purchase some more talented players in the summer as well who will be better than he is. To much talk of Isco and others.

I am really excited about our youth. A player that will eventually play right infront of defense at CDM is Nathaniel Chalobah. He has a great future infront of him. I know this summer we had him at RB, but his natural position is CDM. Arsenal already are trying to make a move for him to come right in and play.

Islam Feruz, Conner Hunte and Boga are threefantastic youth players at the moment but will need a couple of seasons on loan in the championship. The future is bright at Chelsea, I just wish we would start giving our younger players more chances. Bring back Lukaku!!!

Nathaniel Chalobah.

Gianfranco Zola is his manager at Watford and raves about him as a holding midfielder.

Our youth beat Barcelona in the Next Gen Series this week.

It seems Chelsea's youth system may churn out some quality in the next few years.

Been excited about this kid for a couple of years now. Of course I was excited about Patrick Van Aanholdt as well.

Lots of people freaking out on this board. You´ve got a great stable of new players, they need to gel. Chelsea is going to be strong.

Torres however.

Late to the party on this Luiz discussion, but I'm kind of in the middle.

I love the fact that he plays hard for 90 minutes regardless of score or opponent. I think he's getting too much flac just because his shoulder happen to hit the dude in the chin. He uses his body extremely well, and this was no exception. It was just an unfortunate reult.

That being said, there's no doubt he goes rogue like 2-3 times a game. He's still fairly young. Those things will (hopefully) disappear.

I don't know. At first I thought so too or maybe he was just trying too hard to impress when he first moved to Chelsea but I think with him it's just a part of his game. At this point I don't think it's going away.

A rogue Brazilian is not easy to control. Yáll are lucky you have the waiter, he is your best bet to forging Luiz into what he can be.

As to the side as a whole, well, that´s obviously another matter, upon which yáll keep debating.

Luiz should be OK going forward under Rafa.

Seriously, he is what you need to calm Luiz down.

As for the rest, yeah I get you. Nevertheless, who is going to come to Chelsea?
