Watching the video made me re-remember my favorite Blue is no more. Wanted to see how the CFC fans on the SB felt

Drogs was my favorite player for a long while. With Bosingwa being my least favorite. With both being gone now, I must form new love/hates.

Malouda is the clear front runner for least favorite.

Excited to see who will emerge as my new love. Potentials: Luiz, Sturridge, Hazard, Mata, Ramires

I have a feeling hazard is going to become my new totally gay soccer crush for the future.

As we saw this last tournament, Spain can slow play to a standstill

And be ineffective in the attack, though I will admit it's basically defending with the ball.

then change tempo precisely when they want to.

More like precisely when they bring on Fabregas and actually insert a central midfielder who is not afraid to attack.

Like I said Xavi is great at what he does on the teams he plays for but he is extremely one-dimensional and while "worthless" was obviously too strong a word he is still vastly overrated.

Well if you have a thing for douche bags, Hazard is top of the list.

Other than that I think Mata will become (if he isn't already) a Chelsea cult favorite. Followed by Ramires. The fact that he had a rough start makes his success that much more appealing. Look at Lucas at LFC. Awful players for a couple years and now he is a fan favorite. Gotta admire players like that.

Yep I'm a girl with a very low self esteem.

Although I do enjoy watching mata play he's a work horse on the pitch.

Dictating play to the opposition is something few teams can do. Again, Xavi is the tempo setter.

Sure they use his directness quite well but it's still Xavi dictating play.

I certainly don't think he's overrated. In fact, he's underrated in the English speaking world because his style of play goes against the predominant notions about how CM's are supposed to play in England (just look to that British newspaper headline when he was nominated for the Ballon D'Or). The English don't value DLP's very much, which is why they will always struggle on the international stage. The Spanish, Germans and Italians understand how important a pace-setter is to a team.

Xavi could slot in on any team in the world and make them that much better. The same for Pirlo. The same couldn't be said for many AM's.

Or a thing for future champions

I agree. I won't deny it, I was the biggest Ramires hater couple years back. He was rough, but I love nothing more than seeing him succeed now

As someone mentioned previously, I don't believe it until there's a photo on the website with [player] holding up a Chelsea jersey

David Luiz.

He is usually good for a bonehead move and a yellow card per game, but his positive attitude seems to be contagious. I think he will be the next captain. He's incredibly popular with the team and the fans.

There is a post to which everyone's responding.

As someone who probably sees the football they follow criticized as much as anyone on here (Italian NT, Serie A), I think a huge positive to this board is that there's more open discussion with varying viewpoints in all threads and not simply a lot of team threads filled with completely uncritical and unquestioned circle jerking like too many other sites.

Ok I've been following him since the season started, what the hell is the geezer thing about? Thought it was a poke at the older teammates but he says it to everyon.

Pirlo is the player people try to make Xavi out to be. Pirlo is much better than Xavi and has been for a long time.

I said yesterday that Frank will be on the Dan Patrick Show at 10:30 central but he's been moved to 10 central time.

Also just watches that 18 minute YouTube clip, I forgot how shitty the calls were in the Barca 09 game. That was infuriating. Loved the final part though.

Biggest screw job I've ever seen outside of the US Men's bball team getting screwed out of the gold.
